The hits (pun intended) just keep coming on my right front side suspension. 69 Bee. There is more and more evidence of being hit, and then super sloppy work rebuilding.
Anyway, the right side has had the lugs replaced and I assume to make them uniform and RH thread. They really did a mangled up job as you can see in the pic.
Now I’m thinking all of this could have had to do with some accident. Other evidence is sway bar tab broke off LCA, evidence of grinding on bottom of backing plate (as if the wheel ran off). The sway bar was missing and the brackets attaching it were broken. Some denting of the K Member but not serious enough to replace, lower radiator support all distorted (had a 318 radiator), and other tell tale signs. Upon cleaning the spindle I noticed a u shaped scratch which I now believe to be a crack due to blunt force, which makes sense given the condition of the other issues noted.
Anyway these 50 plus year old cars sure need a lot of love…
I will be posting a WTB for a spindle and probably hub (gonna grind these down and see if the lug holes are distorted). It may be fine forever but I’m sure too **** to use the hub like it is and the spindle I fear to be unsafe.

What a ridiculous mess. Lugs not even the correct diameter. I’m tossing both, hub probably useable if a machine shop cleans it up but I’m gonna source another. Jeez!

Looks like that crack extends right through the shoulder of that spindle. That thing is huge. Scary stuff.

Whenever I see workmanship like that, I can't help wondering what else they hacked up on the car.

CYA — check everything in the steering , suspension and brakes!

If stock spindles from a 65 B body with drum brakes will work?

I have a set .... blasted and painted. Cheep

Odds and ends pieced together but I’m pretty much doing a complete restoration. Not likely a nut or bolt on the car interior or exterior that isn’t touched. Dash out and being rewired and restored, heat a/c box sent off and restored, gauges restored, interior will be all new by legendary, engine and 4 speed trans rebuilt, pedal assembly, etc etc. Even wiper pivots were froze and I have replaced.

Accident or not, none of those parts should be welded. No way anyone knows what the temper is now, but it's certainly not what it's designed to be.
