Max lift on the street?

I'm afraid it's alredy too late.
The comp cam is already in the mail...
We'll just have to see how the combination performs when it's in the dyno.
Would be fun to get the numbers I want, but in the end it will probably be overkill on the street - whatever the number on the dyno is.

Finally I managed to make a decision!

Talked with Alex at comp cams, and got a suggestion that made sense (in my mind).
"Custom" grind 263/270 .650/.651 112 LSA.

Just hoping the parts coming in this month are in good shape...

Be at peace, you'll be fine. I've run the rollers on the street for limited periods of time that were 280/288, .780" lift. Was huge fun! Would even idle up the driveway and into the garage.

One thing to consider when running a large solid roller on the street is, spring pressure and keeping lash in check. The last thing you want it hardened needle bearing going through your motor if a lifter fails. That's a really bad thing.

I'm pulling a large solid roller I've had in my car for years this winter and going back to an old solid I have for this very reason. It may never happen, but I'd rather not find out.

Thanks,

I'm intending to use the comp cams sportsman lifters with bronse bushing. They cost more than I really wanted to spend, but I think it was the safest alternative. With the posibillity to rebild them as wel,l they might be decent value for money in the end.
