If you want the best one available, short of finding an original would be to buy one from Joey Cole as mentioned above. His e-mail addy is: [email protected] . They are not inexpensive however...

Most aftermarket fiberglass scoops are way too long or disproportionate compared to the originals.

For those who want to know the original dimensions:

They are roughly 24"w x 26"l.

Fiberglass Trends was 24" x 33" (7" too long!) but reasonably correct in shape. Most of the cars I see have these longer style.

Glasstek is 27 1/2" x 35" !!!

MAS was 20" x 26" (way too narrow but correct length)

Locate them about 3/8"-1/2" from the rear edge of the hood.

Joey Cole's is supposed to be a based off an original and from the pics I've seen they are. He also does replica's of the '62 and '63 Dodge front bumpers in aluminum. They are AWESOME!

This place sells good quality parts vvvvvvvvv

Kramer Automotive wont get another dime of mine.
1st off hes a ripoff and his customer service sucks.
He was supposed to work with Legendary in order to get the A990 Hemi door panels reproduced. Well after 14 attempted phone calls and no return call back from Jim Kramer, I stepped up to the plate and got the necessary steps done to get exact reproduction A990 Hemi Door panels.
Here are the door panels we got reproduced for Legendary Interiors. They are mint.

Sorry to hear about that, but I've had nothing but good luck with the company.

Jim Kramer made a promise to Martin and Eric at Legendary interiors to lend them the pattern from a set of originals to pattern them for repops.
Kramer was going to get a cut on every set sold regardless if Kramer sold them or Legendary as like the A990 Super Stock seat covers.Kramer completely avoided their phone calls.

I'm not arguing, just saying , I've had nothing but great experiences with Kramer Auto.

I have to agree with Chris (SSRacer) as I had bad service with Kramer also. And when I delt with him in person at Carlisle he just seemed very nasty to me like he did not even want to be bothered with my question about his parts. Maybe he was having a bad day but he was just not very nice and with his prices he needs to be nice to people. Ron

Hey Ron, when you were at his spot at Carlisle, How long did he make you wait? I waited over an 1.5 hours , he kept walkig past me behind in his trailer. Even though I was next in line.

Were kinda going of course here fella's, moweepea is looking for a hood scoop.

Sorry, I'd look at the AAR Fiberglass hood scoop 1st. Heavy Duty piece with a scuff and paint, no need for any extra body work prior to install.

cole has the best steel or aluminum about 1,000 kramer junk scoops for 295 has wife does better on the phone.

Max hood scoop

Hi. I have been reading the forum on finding and installing a Max Wedge Hood Scoop and i saw that some of the guys were recomending the Scoops that Joey Cole builds. I just wanted to WARN THE GUYS WHO ARE CONSIDERING DEALING WITH HIM, PLEASE DON'T. I talked with Joey Cole about 2 years ago and asked him to make me a Max Wedge Hood Scoop for my 1964 Model 440. He told me he would make it and send it to me for the price of $1000.00 US. I sent him a money order and waited, i never have received the Hood Scoop. I have tried calling him, but he does not answer the phone when my number comes up. When i get his answering machine i leave messages, but he never returns my calls. As far as i can tell he is just a Scam artist so PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID YOUR FRUSTRATION AND DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM. Hope you have better LUCK finding a Scoop than i have. i am still searching.

Joey coles hood scoop

Hi. I read your responce to my message about Joey Cole. I know that when you talk to him on the phone, he does seem to be a nice guy but Please Beware. I know that sometimes mistakes are made and things get mixed up, but i gave him every oppertunity to straighten this deal out. I must have phoned him about 100 times, i left messages with my phone number and asked him to call me back, i asked him to send me my money back after all this i never received any responce. I live in Canada so i guess he feels that he can rip us off without us having any recourse. My only recourse is to Warn fellow MOPAR Enthusiasts so they do not get ripped off by this less than honest person. Please BEWARE.
