I think I bit off more than I can chew. I’m replace both full quarter panels on my 1968 Road Runner, along with the rear tail panels and trunk gutters. This corner just doesn’t make sense.

There’s an air pocket. Does anyone have a photo of how it looks without the bumper? I attached photos to see what I’m talking about.

Thanks guys.

the only thing that really matters is the panel is resting in it's proper location........ none of these parts are perfect

make it fit and look good where it counts; and go back and fix the small stuff......... not sure exactly you're pointing to, but the factory loved to fill those voids with big gobbs of sealer

are you talking about the hole above the vice grips?

Whatever you do, make sure you hang the deck lid and put both quarter extensions on and line it all
up before you tack weld the quarters!!!!! I'm sure that "Void" is filled with seam sealer.

on your phone you can edit/circle what you are talking about, then post pic.

I think this is the area he is talking about.
What does the otherside fit like ?
Add a piece to the tail pan and tac to the qt.
Looks like a pretty fair dent in the tail panel that needs popped back out anyway.
Like advised allready, seam sealer.
Plus ck. and dbl ck all panel alinement with the deck lid and doors,

the photos I got above helped a lot, but maybe someone may have a photo from where the tail panel butts up to the quarter panel. I just want to see the level of the tail to the crease on the quarter panel.
