I spend a lot of time at swaps (as do we all) and was always amused at those guys who wear pictures of their parts on their backs and stroll around. It just kinda always struck me as funny that they were too cheap to rent a space like everyone else.

Last weekend I was hiking around the local meet and there was a guy walking in front of me with the ever present picture on his back and it seemed as though the parts looked vaguely familiar. So I sped up and started asking him about his parts and he told me that he had a lot more than what was on his back … this is what I found …

New gas tank, filler pipe and straps ...

Pristine fenders with all the trimmings ...

A complete drivers door with glass, wing window and adjustable mirror ...

He also has a complete rust free cowl but I could not get close enough to as there was an old gas tank full of Africanized bees right next to it. He told me if I come pick it up it's mine ... once those bees are gone of course.

I paid $350 for all of this beautiful rust free sheet metal.

I love guys who have pictures on their back!

Great score...wish I could find a guy walking around with a photo of a nice left side tail light for a 63 Dodge 440....

Very nice score. Ron

Great. You know what they say. A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS!

good for you buddy. i should be home in time from utah for our first swap meet in this area. we don't see any guys with the pic's up here.

Awesome.

Part Two ...

I remembered the guy had a complete cowl from his 64 sitting in the back yard and I need metal to fix my rust isses. So I called him up and asked if it was for sale .... Sure ... $40 bucks ... I think he forgot he offered it to me for free ... OH WELL ... I'm on my way!!!!

Nice clean donor metal so I was reallyhappy!

After we get it loaded in my truck he says "How are you fixed for tail lights?"

"I've got both sides but the chrome is a little pitted. Why?"

He walked over to a Fox body Mustang in his driveway and opened the trunk ...

He said "I picked these up at a swap meet last weekend. You can have them for $100.00"

.000000000000000001 nano-seconds later I said "SOLD".

These are almost like new! Chrome is beautiful, lenses do not have any cracks, have the foam gaskets and one even has the rubber trim edge still installed.

He has more stuff and is wanting to simplify his life so he's going to compile a list and give me a call sometime. I can hardly wait ...

Nice score. I would check back often .. making a list can be a daunting, boring, or depressing thing for some. See if you can get him to let you do some shopping and check out his stash and bundle.

OMG WOW!!!!! Great scores...I've been searching for polara rear taillight panels for last couple years and have found none that nice. Wanna triple your money on those??? :)
