Friday I was lucky enough to to get a personal tour of one of the best hidden Mopar restorations shops in the country. The owner brought back some parts from Carlisle for me that my uncle bought when he was there this year. I went by and picked them up on Friday and the owner, Mike, gave me a tour. What a dream!
There was a 1970 Road Runner 440 six pack 4 speed black on black just starting restoration, 1970 Charger Candy Apple red turbo charged 5.7 pro touring half way through restoration, 1970 Challenger RT/SE orange 440 almost finished being restored, completely restored 1965 426 wedge Coronet black with red interior, completely restored WO 1967 Belvedere Hemi that was at Carlisle in the invitational building, restored 1972 340 Challenger, restored 1971 Charger official pace car 440 with moon roof, and a black 1970 Hemi Daytona clone that was getting delivered that week.
And on top off all the amazing machinery, the shop and offices are a Mopar enthusiasts dream! Rare posters, banners, dealer signs, paintings, advertisements, etc. all over the place. Along with framed articles in the lobby from about 6-10 different times his restorations have been in Mopar Magazines and the like. And to boot a man cave with a pool table and probably 400 ERTL and Hot Wheels Mopar die casts.
Talked with Mike for about an hour. Super nice guy! Just amazed by the resume and quality of his work. If only I were ever able to be in a position to have him do a car for me! Great to meet him and grateful to have received the tour!
