Is the metering block behind the primary fuel bowl designed to come off? I'm changing gaskets and It wont come off by hand, the secondary one came right off. This 4150 carb is pretty old btw.

Yes. Take a good puttyknife and stick it between the carburetor main body and metering block and gently pry it off. You can use the blue non stick gaskets going back together, but I would still coat them with chap stick or candle wax. I just recently had the worst carburetor I have ever had to take apart and it had the blue non stick gaskets on it.....but somehow it was stuck worse than anything I have ever seen. I still won.

I'll give that a try, if it doesnt work can I use a rubber mallet?

another quick question, does the secondary fuel bowl have a gasket, it didnt have one when I took it off, it looks like it seals against the metering gasket but I want to make sure

well after looking at the carb over and over I came to find out its a 4160, explains the gasket situ. I replaced the brass float adjustment valves on both fuel bowls with the new ones in the kit, are they interchangable between 4150/4160? they went in and work but they look different

order your parts with the carb number on the air horn
