Just put in a new electronic ignition. Distributor ignition module and ballist resistor. I also bought some
New spark plug wires. Prior to this the car ran strong. With the new upgrades there is a misfire when the car is hot. Any idea what might have caused this?

Thanks,

Jake

Adjust the timing. Assuming you re checked your timing settings after the upgrade. What is your total at 2k rpm?

I don't have a timing light. When I took out the old dist I mark the location. Then put the new on in there and made little adjustments based on sound. There were times when it was too advanced (reved high but no power). And too retard (slow rev and rev doesn't drop bak to idle.) I've also adjusted the idle a bit.

It almost sounds like its missing a spark. After the engine cools I'm gunna take out the wires and plug'm back in.

Not sure if this means anything. But the intake gasket had blown out. I can feel air coming out of it while its idle or Erving up.

2k total?

Hes asking what your total timing is at 2000 rpm. First things first, you need a timing light. And definitely need to fix you intake gasket. Itll never run right like that. And a big leak might be causing your "miss".

X2 on the timing light ...

If your intake gasket is blown you would be hearing a hissing sound and not be feeling air coming out of it.

It sounds like a bubbling sound and there is oil/ air coming out of the intake-head.

I just bought new gasket for the intake a well as some new spark plugs. Going to throw those in and see I'd there is any difference.
