Model Car Builders Thread

Ok, let me clarify. That yellow convertible was a Revell Monogram 1971 Hemicuda Hardtop. I removed the roof to make it into a convertible. The 71Cuda race car is the same hardtop kit, so the front end is the same except I put screen where the head light glass would be. The company still makes the kit as far as I know, but they also came out with the convertible under the Nash Bridges branding for 1 year, then went to a generic convertible kit. Also they just recently released a 70 Cuda kit. Hope that clears it up.

Yeah, that clears it up, I couldn't make out the front of the convertible, that's why I asked! I was wondering if it was an older model as I'd like to get a 68 or 69 model of the Cuda....

I will find one of the newly released 70 Cuda's as well.........

What did you use for the convert. "cover" with the top down? It surely looks good!

Revell Monogram makes a kit of the convertible now. I used a part from a Challenger convertible kit modified to fit.

errrr...... I don't got one single Convertible to rob parts from all mine are hardtops!

I'd LOVE to get my hands on a second 70 Coronet Super Bee to make it into a rag top!

OK so. a bit ago......... diggin' through a few model parts of my own, I got a few....

MISCEngineParts001.gif

These are NON-Mopar parts, mostly engine parts. I got a few othersand a whole case of nothing but Mopar Engine parts, BUT in the case seen here, see anything anyone needs, wants, got to haves, and got something in Mopar for trade again, parts only...I'm not looking for complete models UNLESS a trade of such can be reached, I do have a partial 65 Pontiac GTO, and I believe a complete 65 Chevy Corvette, if anyone is interested in trading, I'm looking for Dodge truck parts, specifically the older ones like the Lil Red Express or the like....I would even consider any of the new Rams too, as I do have a Dually bed to use so.....

I also have I think a complete 1965 Chevy Fleetside pick up as well, I know its missing the motor as when I got it, it was already assembled. BUT, I also know if interested for parts, or complete, I can toss in an extra motor I have. I also have a 215 straight 6 as well, but that didn't come from this model it originally came out of a 1950 Chevy pick up.....

PM me or post here if interest in anything, THANKS!

No. Thats what I did. If you look around, or even on ebay you can find this:

I used parts from this kit before they released a convertible. It was a 2 in 1, hardtop or convertible

They still make the coronets... http://www.round2models.com/models/amt/dirty-donny-coronet

The 2 'vertibles look AWESOME!

As for the 70 coronets, yeah I got 3 of them, 2 already built, one I'm going to take some time on and really get into it as far as details as the 70 Coronet is my favorite car EVER. so.....

I got 2 of the Pro-Stock models of it and one street car, with a Hemi going to be a real winner when I'm done with it.....

I'd like to fina another "new" one to make in to a 70 Coronet Convertible tho. That be a cool looking car...... As the 2 I have as Pro-Stock are now the "Dirty Donny's" versions and much rather do that too a stock car, not a Pro-Stock "Tubed" model.....I would however love to get my hands on the single carb intake and the heads and cam covers to the DOHC Hemi A925 from the Dirty Donny's 70 Super Bee......I want to make a mold to cast more of those...

I've been doing a few customs for about 12 years now....still not very good at it :eusa_doh: I only work in 1:64th scale, so everything is a bit smaller...
This one has a series of staged pics, and got me only 4th place in a web-based contest. It was something I had wanted to do for a long time...

I didn't win with this one either....

Yes it is in there. I've used the parts on other police models too great stuff.

Super stuff! I especially like the derelict GTX.

nice stuff.... The car smashing into the Dozers is pretty good! WOW, where'd the hood go? Nevermind, after a closer look, I see it!

What/who made the Dozers? and what exactly might the car be? The picture is a bit small to make out details as such!

The Bulldozers are Matchbox MB18B, from the '60's, complete with fresh paint and new tracks. The car is a repainted Greenlight 1970 Dodge Challenger, with rallye wheels and bigblock. The flying hood is off a '68 Camaro....as was used in the first movie.

I've just made a trade to build a 68 GTX drag car for a 318 and Auto Trans so I can build my 392 stroker. Any chance you have the prostreet chassis from the 69 GTX models or the 70 Super Bee models? I have plenty of Mopar stuff for tradsies.....

I got an extra tubed frame for a 70 Super Bee.....Maybe even more partsas well to go with it, rear, M/T tires, and rims to match all the way around (2 styles) and God only knows what else....... PM me on it!

Another one, not quite finished

Not quite finished the interior. a few more black washes yet.

That car will sit in a garage scene diorama that will be the "Before" to the car I am starting to build. It will be my most intricate car ever, opening doors, with full latch detail, opening trunk as well.

NICE work on that "Silver Bullet" dodge!!!!! NICE motor too, what is that to be anyway? CID I mean....?

Well since all this is posting of models work done, or started and or somewhere in between, WTH. I'll post a few pics of what I'm into here......

First up, a die-cast sort of, restore. WAS a 1:25th General Lee. Not anymore, I couldn't find decals so. Thought I'd try something new....

69DodgeCharger001.gif

69DodgeCharger002.gif

The motor in this model was NEVEr to be. Why? It had what was to "look" like a complete motor, as a 426 Hemi in it. And really, I've not seen this motor EVER overused in a model, BUT the 69 Dodge Charger R/T.....SO, I opted to put in the Hemi's place, but a motor of the SAME cubic inch....... the 426 Max-Wedge.....

69DodgeCharger003.gif

This frame that you see the motor in, was never "open" or able to see through. Meaning, the lower frame was solid and was just a carved out area, to show underside detail of the front suispension, it was never carved to fit an actual motor into place, hence why the front axle bar goes through the motor. I wanted to try and keep it as close to original as I could as far as all of its factory parts. (Remember this model was the first I've touched in about 15 years back when I was a bit more a hurting unit from open heart surgery) SO....Now, since that time, I've gained a few models, shall we say!

69DodgeCharger007.gif

The body.....Panther Pink.....It will also have a white deck stripe, a white vinyl roof, and the indentations of the hood will be white with "426" written in black in the white blocks....

69DodgeCharger009.gif

NO CHROME on this one! Its normally against my religion to remove the chrome but in the case of this Charger, I had too. I bought this model scratched up and the chrome was all but worn off as it was old, when I got it so... I figured "Blacken chrome" would be fitting and it sure has a good look to it, I just can't put no "gloss black" on the body as it would clash....

Even the rims are blackened chrome!

More to come thats my Die Cast 69 Charger R/T......

- - - Updated - - -

So before I head for bed.....my 67 Charger?

So this is to be the "Foose" 67 Charger. I just couldn't I like them a loto f the time "stock" Mopar.....Sadly, I had a bit of a different idea....

What was the RB block replacement? AND the Hemi back in the day? Anyone?

A 404 CID Ball-Stud Hemi for the small one, and or the 444 Ball-Stud Hemi....Not many ever made as the A279 was there? I got a model!

In the car....

Extra details I turned to make them fit the valve covers that I milled:

I've since gotten the carb on it, and have yet torun the fuel line from the Mech. pump, and then to get the frame completed ready to install the motor, then I'll run the fuel line from the frame to the mech. fuel pump....

Ohh yeah, it will keep the "Shaker" hood scoop as well.....just not have the 2 X 4 carb set up supporting it.....(I thought I use plenty of 2 X 4 carb set ups on Hemis so.....)

Wow, I don't think I've seen the ball stud Hemi in kit form. where did you dig that up?

I've got a Ram Charger truck custom I'm working on with a Dual plug 6 pack hemi.

That is a nice kit. I have that sitting here waiting to be tackled. Very nicely done. Anychance you're going to do a 69 Road Runner to keep it company?
