Molasses Bath Trial

If you are not in a hurry, it works great. It won't take paint off though like you are aware of. When I took my manifold out of the bath, I noticed a little orange paint left on the heat riser that the factory sprayed on.
It also won't cut through grease, so be sure to take that off first. Otherwise, I've had good results with molasses for years.

E.J.Beeper, do you disagree that I've been having good results? Check out my thread on the subject on here from a few years ago.

I just got back from vacation so I pulled them out and hosed off the heavy rust. I have to say that I am pretty happy with the results especially the insides. I threw them back in until I have time to clean the paint off and coat them.

Before and after

Evaporust is chemical based where the molasses is natural and will not damage the parts if they are left too long(different chemical reaction).
Evaporust is all natural too, if fact it’s made using molasses.

I like your idea of using molasses though, cheaper.
