Monroe's 70 GTX

Glenn,

I need to apologize to you. You had asked the following question on my thread: "You wouldn't by chance have the measurements for the front fender support rods would you? Mine didn't have them but I think I could make some up here. Keep up the good work and great pics. Cheers."

I blew it. I got tied up at work, and then I was struggling through my package tray and steering column. Quite honestly I forgot and I only saw it again now. Again: Sorry!

Hopefully some of the pictures below will help. I took one of mine off to show you more clearly what it looks like.

Here is an overall picture of the piece. It is 11.5" long, and is threaded on one side and has a slot on the other.

Here is a close-up of the threaded side and the overall length.

Here is a close-up so you can measure where the threaded hole goes.

Hopefully these pictures will help you identify replacements, or just make some of your own. Good Luck!

How you getting on with the GTX these days Glenn ?? :hello2:

Thanks for the detailed pics Hawk. As usual you go all the way with your info, much appreciated. I must apologise for not responding earlier. My brother passed away a few weeks back, and between that and an extremely busy time at work lately, I just haven't been able to get my head around things.

Apologies to you too Roger, it's been a bit hard. He passed about the same time as you came over, which is also when we started the big warehouse moves at work, so just haven't had time to scratch.
Just to let people know, Roger (kiwigtx) visited late April and brought with him a great little gift. A model of a '70 Roadrunner in my colour. It was a top gesture on his part and I was rapped to receive it. I hope to get back on the car very shortly. My daughter wants it for her wedding.

So sorry to hear about your brother Glenn...that must be making life a bit tough lately. My sincere condolences to yourself and your family. We'll catch up soon. :icon_thumright:

Glenn, I'll add my condolences as well. Sometimes life gets in the way of our restoration projects, but you are doing the right thing - family must come first. The car can wait.

Hopefully you can get back to better and brighter things soon - maybe a wedding is coming up soon??? Anyway, we are looking forward to hearing more about that car progress - and maybe eventually some pictures of it in a wedding ceremony too!
