The early HPM and MA was a huge inspiration to me back in the day. I am hopeful and still look forward to the next issue. I miss Mopar Now which died prematurely IMHO. That magazine had potential to cover the post Y2K era that was coming into being.

Sad news here if true about MA. Along with subscriptions dwindling, when companies buy out the comepetition and terminate the writers that made the name for the publication then get lazy since they don't have the competition, the inevitable happens. Witness High Performance Mopar being bought out by Mopar Muscle[ owned by TEN/Hot Rod] which quickly turned into Mopar Muscle Atrophy. I will be giving Hot Rod the boot if and when it turns quarterly as I'm not thrilled with the last couple of years having reprints from their other expired brands being used as filler due to lack of talent writing and lazy/greedy exec's who think the subscribers are idiots and won't notice old articles being used for content.
A few years ago when I was at the Spring Fling, I was on the hunt for some generic steel wheels to mount tires on so I could roll my car around. The guy I bought the wheels from was a writer/editor from MM. He asked if I had a subscription to it which I really didn't want to answer. I finally told him no I didn't. He asked why and I told him the magazine was lame. He asked why I thought that. I said too many repetitive whimpy articles, too much content being used to advertise for AMD and not hardly enough good content or tech articles like they used to do when they had competition.

I just picked this up at Wal-Mart on Thursday. Some convenience stores that I frequented for their magazines now have no car related publications. When I asked about it, they said their Canadian distributor went tits-up and the only place you could buy them now is Walmart or Chapters.

These upcoming generations that eschew all manner of former things in favor of the internet are putting
all their eggs in one basket in doing so. They'd best hope there always is an internet - because I believe

Gee, I hope Chrysler Power is still going. A free lance photographer did a photo shoot on my 1967 Coronet R/T for that magazine. The one I miss the most is Muscle Car Review. There is a nice quarterly publication from British Columbia called Bone Stock and Muscle Car. Available by subscription.

Internets a dangerous cliff I think. I have HR back to the 60's and all the Mopar mags back to when they started. Quite often when building a car I can go back to reference the magazines and I do. I find that a lot of information on the internet goes missing over the years. and you can't always find it. Also with cars as time goes on history gets changed and opinions become fact. I see it all the time in this hobby. On the other hand the old editors and writers are aging out and the younger editors and writers naturally have a different take on the hobby than the older fellows do, for better or worse I suppose.

Maybe my thinking is flawed but with only a few exceptions (Here especially), I don't trust many people regarding technical advice other than Rich Ehrenberg. He is stubborn about some things so I don't agree with everything he puts out but I've learned a LOT from reading that magazine.

The Professor is going to be lost to us someday soon and the Mopar hobby in general will be poorer from it.

thanks for this info. Last year I could pick up copies at either Lucky's grocery or Safeway grocery, but both stopped having copies available in the last 3-4 months. I'll have to check Walmart and see if I find it. I actually didn't even know Walmart sold magazines - never thought to look.
I recall around 6-7 years ago Mopar Action switched publishers and was out of circulation for about 4-6 months and then resurfaced just as good as before. I hope they get picked up again and put out a few more issues. I know that we're well into the digital age, but I for one much prefer reading physical books and magazines, holding them in my hand, folding them up and bringing them in the car for when I have to wait for an appointment or have 10 extra minutes at the end of my lunch break. I really hope informative tech magazines like this don't become extinct.
I got into muscle cars back in the mid-80's, but didn't get into mopars until 2010 when I bought my 68 B body. The 2 invaluable sources of information to get questions answered and keep me on track were you good folks of FBBO and Rick Ehrenberg of Mopar Action. A big thank-you to both!
Oh well....I guess it's back to "LS Swap Monthly"
