So, apparently later model cars had the compressor moved forward compared to early cars. Interesting. I didn't know that.1969 Coronet RT with a 440 and a 26" 4 row radiator.

Most older cars had the rad. cap higher than the engine/ thermostat, a lot of newer ones don't. I built a 600 horse /406 sbc vega, the radiator was lower on it , and I had to raise the front to get the air out of it. Also added the coolant return lines that some chevy boys use, which helped greatly. I have even thot about rigging some on my 440/505, but haven`t got much of a cooling problem.Having worked on cars for fifty years or so I've never had a problem with air lock in a cooling system. Maybe I'm just lucky? I usually fill the cooling system and run the car until coolant circulates without the radiator cap. After the coolant is circulating I top it off then install the cap. In the olden days my mentor taught me to do it this way. Could that make a difference?
I don't know about that. Here's a pic of mine with the factory 054 radiator re-cored with 4 rows and the taller Hayden 2747 fan clutch.

My power steering belt is behind the AC belt. It sits between the AC and Alternator belts on the crank pulley.
