I saw a nice F3 green 69 GTX with a white vinyl top on the way to work this morning. It had magnum 500 wheels on it. It made my day to see a cool Mopar! Sorry that I didn't get a picture, I was driving. Any other Mopar sightings?
It’s sad, these cars used to be driven and enjoyed so much. Now all people want to do is wait until a car show or cruise night to take them out.Unless you’re at a cruise or show around our area, it’s rare to see one out driving. But it’ll snap my head when I see one. I get too excited probably lol.
We’re down in KY for the week. Whole lot more old steel out driving than I’m used to. I love it.
Man I envy you all who can drive them year round. But unless I can talk the entire family into moving to where I can do that, I choose to stay put and drive them as much as I can in our “seasonal territory”.It’s sad, these cars used to be driven and enjoyed so much. Now all people want to do is wait until a car show or cruise night to take them out.
What a memory you have man, wow…Rare up here, in 18 years, since Sept 2005
I'd bet I've only seen like 20-maybe 30 total MoPars
of the muscle car era driving around up here,
some tourists I'm sure too
Other than 'a few' at a show at Ironstone Winery/Murphy's area yearly
or the one in Twain Harte in August (?) annually, you rarely see any...
#1 My 68 RR (& my now vintage 24 y/o & 25 in Nov., my 99 Dakota SLT 4x4)
#2 another member here's Dark Red 69 RR Hemi, & he moved to Texas
#3 another member in Twain Harte killer 64 Dodge/Hemi EFI expert
#4 an old guy upcountry from me, who's now gone (RIP) had a
parked for years was his DD, I drooled over & wanted to buy forever
a 69 Charger 500 440 4 speed Dana-60 car, (my bucket list car)
white with a red tail stripe, black bucket seat interior, no console
#5 one old 36 (ish ?) Plymouth PU, I've seen drive a round once in a bluemoon
alway when I'm supposed to be somewhere, no time to chase & talk with...
Probably more, but stored away in garages out of site...
Lots of Dodge/Ram trucks/4x4s, not very many old ones,
#6 & #7 a couple cool old mid 70's PowerWagons down the street (sitting)
one of them is gone now
Lots of Jeeps/4x4s, Old & New, including my Gladiator Launch Edition Rubicon
#8 A really nice 68 CJ5 225cid Dauntless V6 3 speed OD nextdoor
I helped, tutored, to guide him to restore frame up,
with a few custom touches
I had a neighbor, a couple of years ago, live across & down Hyde st.
a couple houses away, I could hear them more times than I saw them...
#9 Who had a bright yellow 66 Barracuda, he was working on
273 car org., 360 Magnum build, alum heads, Edel. carb & intake, headers etc.
4 speed car with a 727tf, 8-3/4" rear, was sort of a basket case,
it didn't ever drive before he moved...
#10 He had an old 'sort of' Pro-street style, Plymouth Coupe 40' always primer'd,
with a healthy sounding/loud as hell 340 based w/671 Blower 20% underdriven
(I suspect it was a 408-410cid stroker)
It always ran rich as hell, had 2 950 Holley 3bbls VS carbs on top...
I tried to help the guy... (wouldn't listen at all)
Nasty sounding (in a good way, lots of camshaft),
he didn't know much about either car or mechanical **** either,
he had bought them built already...
He had an obnoxiously loud late 90's Dodge Van too...
(he was from the valley/flatlands somewhere)
He was sort of a younger Yuppie guy, sort of clueless too,
type who thought he knew everything, that didn't know ****
& he was attempting to finish them...
I offered my help, if he wanted/needed in ways I could,
I offered tools if need be & he was always too busy, really standoff-ish type...
He didn't live there long, don't know what happened to the cars...
I see a lot of newer Chargers & Challengers or 300s
