Something a little different. 1931 Duesenberg 420 c.i. DOHC straight eight. 265 h.p. unsupercharged as shown, or 320 h.p. with optional supercharger. This in an era when Model "A" Ford was 40 h.p.

Lycoming Motors. Part of the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Corporation. They also did V-12 and straight eight for Auburn and V-8 for Cord. After Auburn folded up, American - La France modified and enlarged the Lycoming V-12 for fire apparatus use through the 1960's. Lycoming became very profitable through WW II as a supplier of aircraft engines.

Bob,
The old McCormack inline and later IH engines were and still are smooth as silk. I used to have an old farmall m but sold it.
I am partial to the two cylinder sound of the big deere engines. I have an 830 diesel also I need to restore.
There are a couple local oil pulls around here, man those things are powerful
