You can ALWAYS tell the Texans during elk and deer seasons. They are the ones that lose their collective minds and do some really stupid ****. I grew up on the Western Slope and know first-hand. In the late '70s, I saw a Texan bring a bright orange Jeep CJ-5 behind a big-*** RV, heading up to Grand Mesa. He had a small rack mounted on the hood from the previous years' hunt. Told him that the rack was a BAD idea. He laughed and said it was all good. A week later, he was back in town. His bright orange Jeep had at least 20 bullet holes in it, and the rack was shot down to a nub. Couldn't help but laugh.

I have a buddy who works for the CO Division of Wildlife (I think they are now called Parks and Wildlife for whatever f@cking reason). This guy is always good for a beer or two and some stories that would blow your mind.

My favorite story is that they had a check point set up randomly checking hunters as they came out of the hills. They stopped a pickup with a trailer, Texas tags, that had a dead horse on the trailer. The Texas hunters presented a valid cow elk tag and asked what the problem was.......

Ive been to Co.three times mostly the Denver area and i did take a ride to Vail. We also took a ride up the mountain next to Boulder,it was something to see. When i visited some new home sites were there was a lot of construction,nobody spoke English. All the trades were Hispanic. Another time in Denver i saw this construction renovation job on a large building. There was some steel work going on and welding. There was at least four guys running wire feeders with flux cored wire. It was'nt like a high production job and i got to talking with a guy there and he told me they couldn't get decent stick welders so they just used guys to MIG it. What really got me was the weather. I found it dry and once i was there when my cousin had her baby and we went out for a walk.It was just above freezing. A nice day but here you'd never take a month old out for a stroll at 32 degrees. There we wrapped her up and all i needed was a sweat shirt to be comfortable. I found that amazing. Its a beautiful state with nice people. I don't think id move there as i need to live at sea level near the Ocean. I should be there this year for a visit.maybe even soon

Alright guys giving y'all an update, getting everything together on the 70 but can't leave this weekend like I thought I would because my hydro clutch won't be delivered till Monday morning. Then I can fire her up and break in the new cam Monday morning which gives me the rest of the day to tune the car. And I'll get to tune it on a wide band sensor while test driving so I can perfectly dial in the carb. Then hopefully if all goes right I'll head out Tuesday morning.

I get what you mean about Californians and Texans helping to ruin the state. I live in CA now and take no offense to that cause I hate the culture in SoCal. I said earlier I lived in Colo Sprgs for 10 years before having to move for work to CA. Bummed me out big time. I was a big time hunter, fisherman and backpacker.

. I remember one time we were deer hunting and ran across a group from CA. We chatted them up for awhile. Hunting was sparse. We heard some shots on the mountain and knew it was the group we had met earlier. We went to scout the situation and found they had shot a small 2 point buck. They were just going to leave it cause it was a small one. We had a pretty pointed discussion with them and basically made the guy that shot it use his tag on the buck - and then we helped them load it up in their truck and suggested they leave the mountain. Which they did pronto. I haven't hunted since I left CO. I don't want to get shot in these mountains here. It's just not the same.

I just spent the past 4 hours plowing out the property, Carharted to the max. When I was done it didn't look like I had done a damn thing. Had to to take a hot shower before dinner just to de-frost.

Ya even over here where we don't get that much snow I had 7" this morning and then another 3" tonight. Its the 3rd time since Christmas. Really getting tired of shoveling snow. That is one reason I moved back here from Denver not to have to shovel so much snow.

Somewhere in my picture files I have a few great shots of my house and car in a pretty good snowstorm. The snow height goes to the top of my car. I shoveled it out and had nice drifts that went so high I laugh whenever I look at the pics. They're beautiful shots with the mountains in the background and the house and car buried in the background. I definitely miss the Rocky Mountain state.

You guys need to get a snow blower, I am excited to actually go out in the morning and use mine, glad I got it a few years ago, but this will be a good test to see how well it handles a foot of snow in the morning!!!!! Yea power tools!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went out yesterday and plowed and shoveled while it was still snowing just to keep the volume off. (You are the only member on here that knows how much snow I need to move to keep the driveways clear).

After today, roughly 10 gallons of gas to get it done and 4 hours (that was with 2 teenage boys helping.)

14 inches here. Thank god it stopped.

So can't leave yet!! Ugh!! Went to fire of the motor and it kept dying instantly. Checked coil and wasn't getting any power to it. Checked the starter relay. Annnddd no power on the 12v ignition terminal on the relay. So bad relay and am getting one tomorrow morning. Buuuuttt my hydro clutch won't work because of the throw from the stock location so McLeod said to mount the master cylinder to the frame and use the stock pedal push rod. So I just overnighted it from classic industries and missed the cut off to get it tomorrow so I won't get it till Thursday... Ahhh shoot me now!!!!

Moving to Colorado Springs

We sold our apartment complex last month in the lower rent district. Just a heads up, rent is high in CS. Rental units are difficult to find. If your funds are limited, suggest to your check Pueblo CO (40 miles south). Rent is even higher as you travel north.
