Mr. Norm's HEMI '69 Super Bee available

Really; 175 large for a non matching #s Hemi car?

My new Hemi car is matching numbers, original starter, voltage regulator, wiper motor, alternator, etc which must make it worth at least eleventy-billion dollars! :headbang:

Damn! So what did DMV hit you for, when it came to the sales tax?

People will pay $$$'s for some history & a name

I wouldn't pay that much, but it's got history & a name behind it, #'s matching or not, if the story is true , it is worth more than a basic car, even a basic Hemi Car, because of a Name Guy & history behind it, I don't agree really but that's how this **** goes sometimes, like Mr. Norm's 69 J Code "Hemi" 4 speed, Promo Car Sales Bank Car... Just like all the Ronnie Sox Cars or Dick Landy/Dodge Cars, Copo, Yenko, Baldwin Motion, Nickey Chevrolet, etc., name & history tied to them... It's a nice Hemi car, over priced to me, but very nice non the less...

Story schmorey. All that's hearsay. Hooha. Balderdash. Horsefeathers. Hogwash. What counts is THE CAR. That's all. When I buy socks, I don't wanna know their story. I just want um to fit and do what they're supposed to.

Eleventy billion. That's a goodun.

:iamwithstupid: Cars aren't tube sox's...LOL... Most people aren't drawn to a tube sox's display, maybe you are Rusty...LOL... Cars, they have an emotional & historical significance sometimes, Be-it good or bad.... Like I said "I wouldn't pay it", I would rather have 5-10 or more clones, that I could "drive the piss out of instead", I'm not of the "**** retentive, over priced, mentality", that seems to drive these type of cars into the, "over the top range", in pricing.... Just my explanation of how or why, they are priced, don't shoot the messanger..LOL....

Can you really call this a restoration? No orange peel. Base/clear paint. Laser-straight panels. Perfect fit. All these adjectives didn't apply to cars coming off Mopar assembly lines in the 1960s and 1970s. All these cars came off the line with warts, some big, some small, but they were far from perfect, so redoing a car so it is perfect isn't really a restoration but a customization.

I think if the car was like maybe I dont know.......a >10K mile survivor that would still go 95+ points in a show......it might be worth close to what they're askin.

I pretty much agree to a certain point

That has become the "excepted norm", for restoration now days, people don't want, the old crappy stock, lousy out of the factory assembly line look, on a car they are paying 6 digit figures or more for... Just like someone taking a car in for paint you don't want a bunch of big gaps or blemishes in the body fit &/or paint.... Unless it's an "untouched original", it's not original any more, they all can be considered customs as soon as they are restored, IMHO... They're only original once....

This really depends on what your going for in the resto. An OE gold would be as the factory built it. What most people do is an over restored rotisserie resto.

Too high

A slight premuim due to history maybe but, 2x or more NO WAY...I would not pay that if Mr Norms Kids was concieved in the back seat...:laughing11:.

The ad said it was appraised back in 2007 for 175k! I guess this guy didn't get the sucky economy memo.

I'd Be Half Afraid To Drive The Thing. Somebody Might Lean On It For That Price!
I agree. These aren't really cars as much as they are collectable automotive art. You can't drive it somewhere, park it and walk away. I'd rather drive my old Belvedere around and have fun with it without worrying about putting a few miles on it or if it's going to get a scratch or rock chip. But that's just me.
