'70 4spd car & I want to wire in the trigger(s) for both a MSD 2-step and a Hurst Roll Control (line lock). I'm having a hard time thinking this through.

1. How should I activate each?
2. How should I de-activate each?
3. Exactly which switches should I use?
4. How should I run all the wires?

For drag racing, "in my head" it seems like I might want to be able to stage the car, activate the 2-step & line lock at the same time while pushing down the brake, then take my foot off the brake and rev the engine with the clutch pedal down. Both the line lock & the 2-step would turn off the switch (on clutch pedal? shifter?) and the car launches. I'm missing something.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS!

Wow, no suggestions ?
I don't have either so I can't really hep but I'd think someone here would know, No ?

I usually plumb the line lock solenoid to the front brakes so I can release them with the button. My button is mounted fore on the shifter below the knob. I have an adjustable MSD module selector for the two step that allows me to vary the launch from 4600-5200 and that is plenty for the burn out box too. Depending on the rear gear/tire height I will start the burnout in either 2nd or 3rd gear to get some wheel speed to heat up the tires.

So, roll through the water to the edge, stab the brakes, grab the two-step/line lock (they are wired together) activation button, let off the brakes, rev up the engine to about 4k rpm and side step the clutch, let it it eat *without* laying into the rev limiter, grab the next gear if more wheel speed is required. If the car is going sideways in the box you need more wheelspeed to break traction. The "soft-touch" of the MSD is hard on things so stay out of it if possible. Stab the clutch as you let off the throttle so you don't hook it and hurt the clutch (you are in 3rd or high gear at this point). Do your thing and courtesy stage, stab brake, grab button, mat the gas at the first amber (.500 tree) and let off the button at the last amber and away you go.

Hopefully that give you a game plan. Practicing at home will improve your skills and impress your neighbors. Good luck and have fun!
