Hi guys,

I was wondering if I buy MSD ignition 6AL and distributor 8546 and connect as they (MSD) suggest, do I need to left Ignition Module and ballast resistor or not?

As I see on MSD connection diagram, I need to connect 6AL on distributor and ignition coil, so what to do with current wires from Ignition module to distributor and ignition coil? I need to leave them or not? What about ballast resistor?

Thanks in advance.

i just purchased the MSD 8387 stand alone dist. this morning. for what its worth.

but in your case, you could remove the box, and resister and eliminate the wiring, or just tie it back.

You will not need the ballast resistor. Just make a jumper cable to fit between the two ballast wires and your good to go.

I don't use my VR or resistor anymore with my 6al and distrib works fine. if your distrb is electronic you're good.
