Wow! I used to be of the opinion that if you were prepared to spend the money, then most cars could be brought back to life. But i have to admit a couple of those could be touch and go. Lol. :icon_fU:
 
This week the owner of a local wrecking yard showed me pictures of a '70 Road Runner his father bought in Oklahoma that was destroyed by a tornado, I'm not kidding-destroyed. It almost looked as flat as those cars crushed and transported for recycling on a flat bed truck 20 or 30 at a time. It almost looked like that blue "Baron" Cuda in the video at minute 1:03.

He now shows me the same car restored at his father's body shop in Tijuana, Mexico and he says even the doors open and close like new. Next trip up that way I would like to see it in person.

If anyone has a REAL basket case, I can get the location of the body shop and owner for you.

That green 70 Charger WAS repaired. The Graveyard Cars guys did a back half on it and were called to task for doing a **** job on it!
 
Some are definitely stripper, did any one see that cuda shell on e bay a while ago sell for 34K!!!!! Had to be for the tags it was a wreck.

There is one forum that has A LOT of these junkers being slapped together with playdough and 95% AMD metal....

Very few get finished but I placed these restorations in the category of buying a flooded car.....your buying a problem whenever they sell them

I've been thinking about having work done to some cars in Mexico. Most body work is labor and when labor is cheap it makes sense. The only bugaboo is getting your car back once it crosses the border.
 
I am building a retirement home in Mexico. I have three Mopar classics down here right now ('65 Formula S Barracuda, '65 Valiant Signet convertible, '72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus) All work being done in Mexico.

There is a local Mexican mechanic here that they call "Mr. Mopar". He owns a classic Dodge Charger, a Plymouth Cuda, and a Plymouth Road Runner. He showed me some parts he claims are from Dick Landy: a Dana 60 on his garage floor, a 440 with a gear drive, and more. He also has a drag strip "Christmas Tree". He also claims to have a '71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus, but I have not seen it yet. Like most Mopar fanatics, a helluva nice guy.

There also is an "abandoned" 1/8 mile drag strip about a mile behind the home i am building. Locals go out there on Sundays and race without timing lights.
