So I figured I would start a new thread with this car, there is some back story here: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?51717-1963-330-barn-find about how I find the car, how long it took and how I got the car.

Here is how I found it,

Now, in order to purchase the car, I had to sell my '64 polara. but, it had all my 4-speed parts, power brake set up, exhaust, and rearend. So the deal was made, but I had to pull all the parts, and make the 64 rollable.

I kept the rear end for a few reasons:
It already had 11x3 brakes, just redone. it was the newer style housing ('68), it had my 489 case 3:23 sure grip unit, and both cars sat the same level, however, the '63 had home made rear shackles, and the leaf springs where massively de-arched..

so first thing is first, strip all needed parts of the '64 and swap rearends (can't fit both cars in the shop, and there was a truck on the lift already.. )

I need to order new carpet for it, and I am only needing an oil pump for my motor. (still need to find a good one to order) As soon as I get that, I will be putting in the rack, and assembling the car to be a driver.

Leaving it bench seat, will be a 4-speed, and the 360 I have is fresh rebuild, .040 over, with '71 340 X-heads, super comp hedders, an edelbrock performer rpm intake, holley 650, and a mopar purple cam....

Looks great!
I'm starting "over" on mine.
I rescued it from one body shop and now its in another

again, looks good!
PS: near Fairchild AFB?

yes, I already had it installed in the '64 but it was smoking EXTREMELY bad. It was stock at the time, I pulled it out and had the machine work done, was getting ready to stick it back in the '64 but got the '63

I am about 40min from FAFB

question.. I can find carpet kits all day long, but if for some reason I take my seat in to get re-upholstered and it is a god-awful price, anyone know where to get a new set of upholstery? mine has what I believe would be considered a 60/40 split on top??

looking good keep us posted on your progress

Another great old Mopar saved from the weeds. Looking forward to seeing 'er on the road.

and a final farewell to the '64 local guy bought it, but it sounds like it is getting sent to California..

Buh-bye

On a side note... The guy I bought the '63 from came into work last night before closing.. said his 12 yr old hasn't stopped complaining since I picked the car up. Said he asked his kid why he hadn't said anything before, car has been sitting back there since before he was born, guess the kids reply was, "well it had hubcabs on it and he had nice wheels on it, it looked cool then."

I kind of feel bad, but I look at it that, I am glad I got the car, as well as now that kid is wanting an older mopar, and as soon as the car runs and drives, I told his dad, I will take him for a ride in it and lay a little rubber.. get him that much more interested in muscle cars.

Great idea, maybe offer him first dibs on it if you ever want to sell it down the track too...

good luck with the build. and show the kid how nice some of the cars can look with hub caps.

Love it.

I'm kinda partial to 63's myself...

Nice looking car. Gives me a little more ambition to go work on mine.

I know its not a mopar, but on Saturday I got to drive a 31 Ford 5 window with a cleveland in it.. pretty cool little street rod a friend of mine owns.. Sure made me want to go and get to work on mine!

I scored my push button delete plate, now I need one piece of trim for the passenger door, and the little pieces that go inside the tail light lenses for the passengers side and should have everything else..

Nice 4 speed part pistol grip, I saw one the other week advertised as a shifter delete plate.... No it's a 4 speed cover plate lol

So just a quick update.. I have to wait for the weather to get a little better.. hopefully tonight I can get the rearend back in the '63. You can kind of see that when I parked it next to the '64 there is a big hole where the rearend would go under the car..

Right now that is about 3 inches of water thanks to the rain.. I'm hoping it will be dried out tonight and I can slide it in there after work. Then I need to load it on a trailer and take it to work to use the steam cleaner and give it a much needed bath..

Giving me ambition to start back on my 63 Polara too!
Thanks to you & Dodge 330

Bad news...
There is currently NO kit out there for the 1963 Dodge.
YES for the 1963 Plymouth but none for "US"

On that note...
1. the famous business in So Cal; "Just Dashs" http://www.justdashes.com/ will do your door panels...just send the original ones in, they bench mark and reproduce them and then you get the news ones back and you also get the old "original ones" back.
2. A GOOD, Quality and exoperienced upholstery shop can make your original interior for the seat covers.
Pricey, but well worth it.
3. Purchase a set of the 1964 Polara/330/440 interior kit from Legendary...
4. Purchase and install the 1963 Plymouth kit from Legendary.....

Currently these are the options we have.....
Im going with #2 for mine.

I hope this helps!

ya, I am still debating what to do with the front seat. They have some off color fabric on em.. started looking at em, and they have covers hog ringed with the original upholstery. The front is still worn underneath, but I need to get the back pulled apart.. from what I can tell so far, it is in good shape underneath. When I get it in the shop, I am pulling seats and carpet, putting in the 4 speed hump, and then go from there on what I need to get done for seats and carpet.
