My 66 Satellite street car project

Thanks Malex, You know what would be awesome…. Actually driving it this year. Last year was a bust, this year looking much brighter.

Driver side done. I was going to go all the way around to the bottom but with the K Member still in the car and headers in the way this option I think works. A little clean up with Roll-Lock disc and going to paint it.

Thought I was installing motor this week but just noticed the surface rust on the less then a year old TTI headers. They are under warranty but TTI wants me to ship back for strip and recoat. Problem is 5 weeks turn around. This car ran for about an hour on these. Sat in my trailer for 9 months. Ridiculous!

I wouldn’t have expected that. I just crawled under my one car that spent the winter in a trailer, no surface rust to that extent, although mine sure do need a good polishing.
So are they going back for re-coat?

Yep strip and recoat. They did warranty them without even seeing pictures, and they did pay to send back (sent a label) but still now I have to find a box, package, bring to UPS, and wait 5 weeks. UGGG cant win.

Manifold back from Wilson, had the intermediate porting done. Took 8 weeks!

You can see the feeler guage in the port in the one pic. Only the upper half is not touching. I would think that adding thicker gaskets would move the entire intake up but i don’t believe it would change the angle.

Had to angle mill .006 to nothing from each flange to get it to sit perfect. Not sure why! But now it plunks down perfectly. Also noticed after indicating that the leg Wilson welded the plate on was a bit warped but cleaned up within the .006 pass.

Just got back from powdercoat, not perfect but I also didnt spend the time to dress the imperfections before I sent it.

Headers back from recoat also, So theres a solid chance I’ll make it to Carlisle this year.

Thats if my wife lets me take a couple days off the kitchen remodel snd pool deck rebuild……

11 weeks total from ordering the manifold from Indy sent directly to Willson for porting, then getting time to fix angle issue, and a week at powdercoat. But it does look pretty….

Ive been debating a lift in my 9’ ceiling garage for years. I really wanted a two post but hated the idea of not being able to open the doors to work on interior stuff or the fact that it would just be in the way permanently. I was skeptical about using a scissor lift as I thought it would really hinder access to the bottom of the car but I made the decision to try it. looks like I can get a lot of work done, may not be perfect, can’t fully stand up underneath it, but with a low enough stool, I certainly can roll around underneath of it. Going to try it for a while and report back.

Nice. Maybe make up some cribbing to put under the tires in case you need to do trans etc work.
