My 73 Roadrunner Project

Pictures look great. The first one makes it look like it is coming from the bright lights of heaven thru the pearly gates and landing in your garage.

Well, that may be true, as it was a close call on whether I was going to sell it off or restore it! hahahahahaha

I know its been a long time coming but You really did a fantastic job on your bird, awesome looking ride!!! :icon_thumright::icon_thumright::icon_thumright:

I found an old picture of the car from back in 1984. Here is one of the engine compartment then and now. Side story, you might notice that the original air cleaner was not with the car when I bought it, however, one night when I was out cruising, (Yes, that's what we did back in the day)this guy came up to me and said "hey, what are you doing with my car?" I said, "Your car, ok, if its your car, then what happened to the air cleaner?", he said "its still at my house in my garage!" I said, "Prove it, if it really is, go get it and I will give you 20 bucks for it!!!" Well, about 30 minutes later, sure enough he showed up with it and I bought it.

some bling bling looking real good

more than fair...I was pulling the leg of the OP

Thanks Ron73, yeah, about the only good story I have from the car aside from getting the car stuck in a creek once. I was hoping to get a good story when I stripped down the car, but no, didn't find any panties under the seats or anything, but I did find an old nickel that was run over by a train, under the carpet, we used to go do that on the weekends sometimes when we were really bored. I worked at a bowling alley when I was just out of high school and some how a scoring pencil from there got wedged inside the passenger side fender!!! LOL

I got all the AC lines hooked up, just need to wait until better weather and some break in time before I take her to get leak tested and charged. Also added the hood pad and the engine bay stickers.

You have it looking like a trailer queen, Do hope you put a lot of fun filled miles on it.. no thoughts here you wont drive and have fun with the Birthday bird lol, Enjoy!

Well, I put the new wheels and tires on today, really wanted to sneak her around the block, however, slight problem, the passenger side tire rubs on the front of the leaf spring, back is good and driver side is good. Hopefully this is just a matter of loosening the spring box and front mount, and sliding it over on the perch a bit. The spring rod is on the opposite side from the driver side of the opening in the bottom of the box so I hope that's all it is!

I love the 73/74 roadrunner and chargers with rallye wheels! Beautiful car you've got there, I have a big soft spot for them. Great work on the car.

What rim width and off set you running

Looks good

Bruce

The rears are 15x10 with 5.5 off set as recommended by some folks here, and they fit fine with 1/4 inch clearance to the leaf spring except the passenger side front.

very nice ,very nice ,looking real good :icon_thumleft:
