Is this a requirement for installing a Tremec TKO 600 into a '72 B body?
I think it takes more than cutting a hole, a lot of tunnel and crossmember mods... search the forum a few guys have done it.
Oh, I know that, I just meant one this big and in this location
He's got the TKO 600 not T6060, that hole is probably big enough for the TKO to "fit" if it's in the right place. From what I had to do to my tunnel hump - I don't think that you've got the hole big enough yet . . . good luck . . .
Was your rear shift mount machined down? He's got the TKO 600 not T6060, that hole is probably big enough for the TKO to "fit" if it's in the right place.
As mentioned the torsion bar crossmember needs modified to get the driveline angle correct. I installed a TKO and only needed clearance where a factory 4 speed hump would be, mine was a kit and threw the driveline angle all out of whack... it got yanked after a 15 minute drive and replaced with a T56. Nothing wrong with a TKO but for me I really wanted a T56 so when I realized I'd have to do some extensive mods to make it fit right I said to hell with it I'm buying the T56.
