My car is finally done!

Great Build!! really like the reso/mod attack. very satisfying when that kind of project gets done. Like you say now comes the dial-in which will go on along with tinkering.

Stunning great colour combo amazing car I have got to get on my 70 GTX one day

Looks great, hard work always pays off. Have fun!

Fantastic! And congratulations on the end of such hard work. I've been following the build...now what will I do? :)

Wow! It looks great. I've been following your posts from the beginning. Congratulations on "gitting her done!' Now, time to start enjoying the finished product.:steering::eek:ccasion14::3gears:

Sweet, how about some interior pics "looks pretty slick in there".

Couple of answers..
It has a 5.7 in it bone stock. It wants to run and I am anxious but need to get it aligned and dial in shift points.

Donny, I have not added the costs up, lets just say it was over my annual salary and was probably 1/2 again as much as I thought it might be at least. I personally have over 1500 hours in it and Dean has many 100's of hours in as well. I sure learned a lot and if I did this build again it would be way less.

What do you know now that you would save $$ if you were to do it over again?

darius, nice job car looks great. just drive and enjoy it. all the money you put into it will pay off in the long run when you get swarmed with questions and trophys and the look of shocked people that see what kind of work you put into this master piece. AWESOME!!!!!!!!

This and you are what keeps me hitting away at mine ! Very Nice job ! Glad to see ya think outside the box !!

Things I would do different and save $$$......
1. maybe start with a good roller or a good "driver" in running condition. I started with what looked to be a real solid ,running.GTX. The value is that I never have to take this car back to DMV so they can inspect anything! The cost was the car was actually a piece of swiss cheese once it was media blasted. The body/metal replacement cost me tons of money and time.
2. I would NEVER AGAIN agree to finish a car build with any kind of deadline attached to it. Too many issues that cannot be easily solved based mostly on availability of parts and such.
3. I would keep a better record of what I have purchased for re-assembly and keep it on my phone or I pad so when I am looking at something at a swap meet or store I can refer to my list ans see if maybe I already bought it (don't ask how I came to this conclusion)!
4. Now that I see the "pattern" that has evolved with Classic and Year One with their discount "specials" I would wait them out for large purchases.
5. I paid a lot for labor in areas I know nothing about. Next time I could do more myself with what I have learned this time. It was absolutely worth having my car in a fully equipped shop. I could never have done this in my garage.

Beautiful car. Hope mine turns out half as good as yours. Knowing what you know now will definitely help you with your next build.

Here is one I have. We were so rushed to get this car to the Autorama I did not have time to take a bunch of pics.

Thanks for splainin' the idea about the parts list on the phone is a good one .. as is the rest

Saw Darius' car at the Sacramento Autorama yesterday. The pictures don't do it justice. It is beautiful and the attention to detail is incredible. Sorry about the drool, Darius. It was good to meet you.

Got a class participation award out the gate! I suppose that is the equivalent of a 4th place finish? I am actually surprised at that seeing as this show is over run with GM products. Aside from the 15 cars in our club display ( mine was not parked there) I counted 12 Mopars in the whole show.....over 500 cars.
I also was invited to park my car inside the Cannery on Friday nite at MATS based on the pics on my build thread, I never imagined anything like that could happen.
Thanks to all of you for the words of encouragement during the build, hope to meet many of you out and about.
