Unfortunately the hemi is gone.AM I to assume it no longer has the hemi in the car ?
Good idea. I didn't even think about looking for a pair of original white fenders.Keep an eye out for some steel fenders. You may get lucky and find a set of original white patinad' fenders that would somewhat match the car. Being that the road runners, gtx, satellites and belveders all shared the same fenders you have a pretty good chance of finding a set...
I'm about 6-7 hours from Long Island and have never seen that car. Thanks for the heads up though!@bballfan1 Do you know anything about this car Mike? Nice find by the way!
Problem is they all have incorrect holes for emblems and trim, besides real road runner fenders.Keep an eye out for some steel fenders. Ok thanks for the tipProblem is they all have incorrect holes for emblems and trim, besides real road runner fenders.
That's what I'm thinking. If I was that lucky, I'd clean it up, go through the mechanical electrical systems to make it drivable..... and leave it just as it is. Then maybe, maybe, someday, get around to restoring it, but probably not.
It will go back to a hemi car just not right away.Cool project, 'was a hemi car'
I'd leave the fiberglass fenders on it, do something about that hood
I'd leave it looking like a drag racer, but street drive it, put a 440/727tf in it
some drivable gears, like 3.90:1 or 3.73:1 maybe
clean up & do something with the interior, & dash cluster/gauges, door cards
clean up the vintage slots (?) or is it old Torque Thrusts (?) can't tell very well,
maybe repaint paint the inners if it's a vintage TT wheel,
slot front runners/back to polished
clean it/the body, fix some dents up, maybe prime it, or Ultra Flat Black at a min.
&/or paint it all one color, so it's more presentable, in the mean time
get all the safety stuff/brakes, mechanicals, plumbing, belts & hoses changed, fresh fuel system
& drive it, like you stole it, because you literally did get it free
a lil' cleaning & straightening out some "stuff/butchery" will make a huge difference
in the eye appeal
'day 2' baby
good luck, have fun
Yep you are pretty much spot on. Also had the v21 hood paint, super track pack with front disc brakes and 4.10 dana 60Congrats!
Looks like hemi auto. All white with no vinyl top, black bench seat interior, auto on the column, air grabber hood, 26" radiator. I would find hemi parts and put one together for it. 69 hemi RR are one of my favs. They were usually bare bones, low optioned cars, ready for the track. Like to see under the hood as well.
Thanks Mike I knew opposite of the state. I just didn’t how far he may have traveled around up there racing…I'm about 6-7 hours from Long Island and have never seen that car. Thanks for the heads up though!
I saw the V21, but thought that was stripe delete. Didn't look it up, trusted my antique memory.Yep you are pretty much spot on. Also had the v21 hood paint, super track pack with front disc brakes and 4.10 dana 60
Ok I will get a picture of the engine bay.
It will go back to being a hemi car.
