My cousin gave me a 69 hemi roadrunner

That's what I'm thinking.
The blue fenders bug me though.
I'm a a painter/bodyman by trade so eventually I will restore it.
For now i just want to have some fun with it and share videos on my youtube channel.
Get it all cleaned and running doing righteous burnouts before you worry about the fenders. It's your car, but if it was mine, once a snarly 440 was roaring out those spark arrester dirt track style side exits and tire smoke was simply one right foot to the floor away, I don't think the color of the lightweight fenders would bother me :)
It will all come down to how retro does it look once it is cleaned up. That shifter you posted is badass and should go back in the car too, worn knob and all.
It's the kind of thins if you roll in with the engine snarling at a meet(or show or whatever) people are going to know what that car is about.
I look at it like this too: if you have envisioned a perfect condition hemi car I think you have more work then you think ahead of you. And with all the tracks closing down and regulation to run anything being so tight now, retro actual OLD race stuff is cool as F to see in the wild and cooler to see it running.

It's your car to do as you please. I just want to be clear you should not worry if you don;t think it is "nice enough" for a meet or a show. Stuff like that gets a free pass for surviving and keeping it's cool factor all these years. A lot of gear heads will come drool on it, minor rust and blue fenders and all. Especially if they hear it arrive lol.

Edit: one thing you really need to do is find the right lumpy as hell cam for that 440. Side exits like that it's almost a rule. :)

I would look out for a parts car. Maybe a 4 door Satellite and grab the interior, dash parts, fenders etc off of it. That way it’s a car again, then work on getting a Hemi. Just a thought. Cool car nonetheless.
