My new to me 64 Polara

Has anyone used this seat foam? https://www.classicindustries.com/product/all-years/dodge/all-models/parts/*md2007.html

My drivers seat is pretty lumpy.

I vaguely remember a thread involving seat foam somewhere. Basically don't buy the chinese crap. lol

Ya I know. I could go to my buddy's custom upholstery shop. He could hand sculpt foam (possibly made overseas) and rebuild my seats (not re-upholster). He charges at least $100/hr. It would probably cost upwards of $1000 I bet. I don't mind setting on imported seat foam. It's better than lumps. I'll look for that thread. Thanks for the tip.

I see Legendary has what looks like the same foams. Only, $40 more. :BangHead: :BangHead:

hell.. i find 299 too much :) but good seats are worth the money..
I agree there. I have some lower back issues and I need a comfortable seat. I may install one of those pump up lumbar support bags as well.

It's funny but i don't care that much bout the outside of a car.. but the interior has to be nice :)

My 66 is like that. Nice inside except for the headliner. The outside (paint is nasty) The wheels give it attitude though. LOL

I got my order in from Detroit Muscle so I was messing with my 64 this afternoon. I got a few things done. Just small parts and projects. One piece at a time making it better.

1) Quarter glass vertical weather-strip. It will be nice to not get the inside wet when it rains or with the garden hose. The old ones were originals and not much left. I also adjusted the drivers door a little tighter. It might need some other adjustments but it's much better now.

2) Front turn signal lenses. They were originals, all cloudy and one was scratched. The housings were crusty inside and the original gaskets were shot. I was thinking about LED's but they aren't really needed with new lenses and some cleaning.

3) I did get my mirror installed. I didn't plug the extra hole. I'll see how that goes later.

4) A small thing but license plate nuts and screws. I couldn't get them in the slots in the rear. The clips were too stiff or the slots are smaller than the standard squares punched like in the front bumper.

5) I drilled out the holes for the ignition ECU and installed 1/4" Nutserts. Boy that is much nicer! The sheet metal screws wouldn't tighten down and the ECU needs a good ground. I also rerouted the wiring to the distributor so it looks better.

6) I cut the strap off the battery and discovered there is no hold down. No biggie. It's on the list. I did order a sticker and cap kit from Wescar on E bay. That should spruce things up under the hood.

7) I crawled under and looked at the shocks. It bounces wonky over bumps so it must be the alignment. I'll have the wheels balanced and the front aligned. It looks like all new steering linkage. I hope the PO did all the bushings as well. The shocks look like new, front and rear. I bounced all 4 corners and no bouncing. The rear springs look new as well. Score!

Sorry to rattle on so long. I like to post photos to save on my computer and a timeline of what I do. I can also copy and paste this to my thread on B bodies. Got to make it easy!

My electrical and choke repairs worked well. I pumped it a couple times and it spun about a half turn and lit right up. I love that.

Van's Auto has a decent amount of early B bodies parts also, might be good to add to your list.

Those old lenses weren't in good shape. If the one wasn't cracked I could have cleaned them and polished the outside surface. It's cool to have the CDPD emblem on them. Those new lenses are so clear and bright though. These turned out so nice I might look for some for the rear.

Makes for a cool avatar too!

Legendary is the best foam. Used it myself and several upholstery people I've talked to say the same. You get what you pay for!

Good to know on the foam. I made a Gif of a blinking turn signal but it didn't work. The file must have been too big.

Finding a nice used pair is probably not going to happen. I might as well pull the trigger on the repops. Stimulate the economy, what the heck.
