My new to me 64 Polara

Factory ac cars have heater hose running on drivers side. Heater pipes are about in the center of firewall but lower than just a heater car. On my 64 fury with factory ac.
Black rubber plugs behind drivers side valve cover is for heater hose on heater only cars.

Heater valve has a plate around the valve with two screws holding it to the heater box. Then a long copper coil slides into the heat discharge to regulate the temp.

Different year of course but my 65 500 is a factory a/c car. All the plumbing was right behind the distributor[ on the 318]. Heater, expansion valve etc. All got capped off and moved since I'm using a 70 K-frame which moves the engine back 1.5".

I will ask the previous owner/builder of my car if he made any changes to the heater hose outlet routing. Everything I see for a 64 Dodge 440 shows they should be upper drivers side outlet. The change seems like alot of work. I'll see him at the Mopars in the Park show. All ready have my wristbands :D

Yikes! I replaced the alternator because the old one was screaming at times. The new one is nice and quiet. I unplugged the regulator wire and found this. Only 2 strands left. I'm surprised it was still charging.

be nice if it's just his o-ring.... be getting a new o-ring and some indian head.. it will never leak or come apart again.

I am running out of time this afternoon so I will just post some photos of my afternoon's to do list.

I installed the alternator. I posted pucs above.
I got the seat belts mounted as well as the dash pad. (kind of a turd) I used plastic Christmas trees instead of those metal door panel clips. Much easier to work with.

I adjusted the torsion bars. They were 1 1/2" low on the drivers side. I got it within less than a half inch and ran out of energy. I'll fine tune it next time. It sure does feel better over bumps in the road. It bounces straight up and down now.

I hooked up the timing light, checked the timing, slowed down the idle a bit and adjusted the mixture. .

I guess that's enough for today.
