My Newest purchased , not mopar but a bastard adopted step child . 31 NASH rat rod

Yeah that Hemi will look good in there for sure! I love the old Hemi motors. I really love this hot rod man.

choices

being fresh and the fact i dont want anything off it so i'm selling it complete can i get 2 k out it wanna drag ???? it would be a little better then a crate as its totally complete and they can actually hear it and drive it ???

first off i am not a fan of crossbreeding power trains, BUT, being that it is a nash it is a perfect candidate for your choice. get it out there and drive around letting people know the power is for sale. you should get real close to your number but will probably have to give up the tranny with it. i have sold 2-3 sets of those double hump heads in the last year or so and get 600-650,00, bare castings, for them. if it is an .010 block that shows who ever built it was thinking. another sales tool. also i would do a compression test and record it. its not like you have to hang over the fenders to do it, lol, another sales tool.
another angle, get the hemi done and in, take the 350 out and store it but start looking for a reasonable priced roller. they are are around. say 2500 to 4000.00 max and put that power to it. i will bet a nickle you will double down. i picked one up a couple of years ago for 4000.00 and its still in storage. its not a roller but original power that runs. when i finish my current project it will be it's turn. 40 pontiac coupe that i am going to old school rod it. i will do a lot more than double down on this one. i mention this to show they are out there.

anyway i am beginning to ramble. you got a hell of a scoop there. being a nash is even more so. have fun and good luck. :headbang:

I love those old RATS.... just spent half an hour lookin at all those pixx ! a dude at a show i attend has something like that with an old 392 Hemi in it...you know its him when he fires it up because the whole place(((((((( shakes)))))) !

Nash was bought out by AMC which was bought out my Ma Mopar so it is a Mopar! (At least a great grand father of Ma!)

A 392 with two fours would look great between those front fenders. Too bad I no longer have mine.

so you guys think i can get 2 k out of this fresh chevy motor ?????????????

tough call, if it had papers and a reputable builder behind it maybe but they are a dime a dozen to be honest. I just watched one go from 1800 to 1400 and stil not sell, and it was on a stand so you could hear it run. Nice build to with quality internals.
I would think it will sell but not sure if you can get 2k for it.. maybe with all the accessories attached

No,maybe $1500 if you leave it in so a potential buyer can here it run.I have a feeling you will have a hard sell though.

Does it have to be a 392? I have a 331 I am thinking of selling.
does it run , 392 354 and 331 are the three you can get the most aftermarket parts for so yes it would be on my radar

Maybe find an old chevy or GMC truck and drop the motor and trans in it and sell as a whole you may get more out if that way. I twould be a running project for someone and a finished motor that they wouldnt have to do anything to.

I have seen a lot of trucks in my area with 350s not built sell for 2500-5000 depending on the kind of shape the truck is in. Also maybe a 69-70s NOVA if you can find an ok body for not much might make more out of it.

If you find another old car and drop it it would re-sell as well.

I really love hot rods but hate chevy motors in them lol I would put a MOPAR in any I would build lol. I can't wait to hear more about the ride when you get it. I love the skull and sword on the roof.

Good buy on the nash stu. I think any one of those hemi engines would look good in between the frame rails.Maybe you can find somebody that dirt tracks down there to by your motor. But finding a chevy body to drop that in is a good idea also.

No it is disassembled. The heads have been cleaned and magnafluxed. Guides and seats are excellent, however I am replacing the exhaust guides because it is a truck engine and had 7/16 stem sodium filled exhaust valves. It was a truck motor, which means the exhaust seats are hardened. It also means the heads are different. Rather than use exhaust for the heat crossover, they use water. They are second in terms of flow only to the best factory "555" castings and some people say they are better. I also have the large HP/truck 2.75" outlet four bolt flange exhaust manifolds. They are in excellent condition. The block is .030 over with minimal wear. It is all cleaned up and painted and has been magnafluxed too. I am going to cam bearing it and freeze plug it next. The crank is .020 under and needs to go .030. That doesn't bother me, because as Garlits said, all of the Chrysler Hemi cranks will withstand 1200 plus HP, so .030 ain't nuthin. I also have a good set of rods. I canned the pistons, because they were the 7.5 truck flat tops. The oil pan I have for it is plain nuts. It's a FULL length sump. I bet it holds 12 quarts. I also have a custom grind Oregon cam for it. .435 lift and 240 @ .050 ground on 106 LSA. You have to be careful with the early Hemi with lift, because they have such long exhaust rockers. Too much lift and they can break. I also have a rare as hell 2X1 barrel truck intake that I have two adapters and two GM 2GC two barrels on. That thing sits like 15" high. There's a picture of it in the for sale section. They are really hard to find. They came on bigger trucks like D500-700 fire trucks and such. I even have all of the bypass and thermostat housing hardware too. I'm sure I'm leavin out somethin. I got a pile of stuff.

Here's the intake. I've since bent up some nice fuel line for it too.

I'm about 70 miles south of Atlanta. If I'm gonna sell it, I'd like to sell it all. I'll take 2500 for all of it and you can decide what to do with the intake. That may sound high, but the block will be ready to assemble, as will the heads. No cleaning or machine work necessary. The rods and crank of course would need to be prepared. Are you asking what "I" would charge for a complete ready to go 331? I guess I could probably get you one built and ready for 6K give or take. I have a good many more parts than I listed. I have just forgotten some of it. I know I have new valve springs, plain no name stock valve covers. They are somewhat pitted from rust, but I blasted them and painted them Chrysler blue like the block. I also have plug wire covers for them and a good set of plug tubes. Lots of little things like that.

I have a 79 z28 I am selling as a roller if I can.. would drop right in.. I need 3000 for it though, it has a Hotchkis sport suspension kit on it and SFC's to go with as well. If you are interested we should talk. Restoration is almost complete, interior is decent with new door panels.

I would think 6500-10,000 would be possible with a good engine in it and I do have the oem trans with it as well.

In fact, I might trade for a plymouth roller if you had one.... I shouldnt as I need cash but I cant help myself..LOL
