My Stepdads New Dream Car Came Today, A 1969 T5 Copper Charger 383

Thank you everyone for your congratulations compliments, they are much appreciated. The trophy was completely unexpected as we never got a best of show one before. The car will be on next year's shows dash plaque for the first 100 or so cars that come to the show which is cool too.

On a separate note though, I have some sad news to share. The original owners of the car were supposed to come to Carlisle this year for the very first time, so we were going to bring the car. Now a couple days ago my stepdad got a text from them saying that they unfortunately have to cancel their Carlisle trip this year, because of a bad shoulder and needing surgery. They say they still plan to make the trip next year though. All of this unfortunately being said, my stepdads and I's Carlisle plans have changed a bit. We both will still be going and with the blue '68 C-Body Sport Fury to be in the Feature Building Display, BUT we are unfortunately NOT bringing the Charger until next year. We will have the blue Sport Fury and one of our other many C-Bodies instead of the Charger, our yellow 1970 Sport Fury S/23. This as of right now is our final plan. Sorry for the sad news but I still hope to get to meet some folks in Carlisle, see you all in July!!

Hi everyone,

I haven’t updated this post in awhile. The car has been sitting in the garage for a couple months cause we haven’t really gone to any shows lately, until today. Today we went to the last local show of the year 40 minutes away on a farm and took the car……

Also I have some exciting news. As of right now the previous owners of the car are planning to come to Carlisle next year in 2024 and have booked a room at our hotel, so as of right now our official car that will be going to Carlisle 2024 is the Charger!

Hi Everybody,

I have a great and exciting update. My stepdad Bob is currently in Carlisle at the Chrysler Nationals show in Pennsylvania with the Charger. He is in the stock class, number 134 in the red field. He has met with the previous owners of the car, Jim and Penny. This is their first ever time to Carlisle as I mentioned in my last couple posts. This was Penny's car more than it was Jim’s even though he did the restoration work, and Penny says to Bob that she is very happy that he got the car and that he really loves and appreciates it. The car so far has gotten excellent feedback at the show, even from a couple forum members as well. Here they both are next to the car with their blue ‘69 GTX.

Nice Eric. Did you guys drive them there or by trailer?

Hi Everybody,

I have a few updates. My stepdad is back from the big Chrysler show in Carlisle Pennsylvania, and unfortunately the Charger did not win anything. But oh well no big deal, the car is still a winner to us. There were just as nice of cars than ours, if not better. However, the previous owners of the car Jim and Penny won 1st place in their class with their blue ‘69 Roadrunner. Since my stepdad got home from the show he fully detailed the car again from the ride home, changed all the fluids, and put it away for awhile to give it a break since it went on the long trip. He does that every year with all his cars when he gets back from Carlisle. The next time the car will probably come out, will probably be in the fall sometime. Today I also put a laminated copy of an original window sticker Jim and Penny had made in the window too.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that the car is put away for the winter. My stepdad put it away in mid to late September. We took it to the last show of the year at Lebanon Valley Dragway in NY, and we were lucky enough to get a “Top 30” award. My stepdad also got a nice surprise in the mail from the previous owners of the car yesterday, he got the original 1969 Alberta license plate with a note. This is all until next year in 2025, I can’t wait for what it will bring.….
