My take on For Sale threads

As far as I see it, they have the right to ask $10,000 dollars for a hunk of junk and I have the right to offer $1,000 for the same hunk of junk. If it offends them, then TFB....

Then you have the ones trying to sell more modern iron without a title saying for parts only but will not part and must buy it whole then says he has proper documentation that says he has the legal rights to sell it. If this is true, why advertise it as for parts only??? If he has the legal right to sell as a whole vehicle, then he should have the proper paper work for a buyer to obtain a clear title....and not have to advertise it "for parts only". It just doesn't make sense to me.

I bought my B5 blue 69 Roadrunner from someone who made there first & last post here. It was the best deal I have made in years. So let them post, because every once in a while you get a real treat. Kent.

I think reason a guy would be selling a car w/o a title, is that he doesn't want it all wrapped up in "title limbo" just to sell it. If he wants it gone now, it could end up a ongoing process between the buyer/seller to get into the seller's name, only to then to get it into the buyer's name.

In my state they do that. If a seller has no/lost title, they go through the whole process of getting it in their name first. Which can take months. It's easier for the buyer to just bond the car and apply for a replacement title. Just make sure, through the state that the car is clear or ownership. In our state, they are out of the system after 7 years if not registered. Collector plates stay in the system forever.

i say let em post, would like to be able to comment sometimes though. i remember seeing a totally rusted out mid 70's slant six A body on one of the sites, guy wanted to trade it for a running 68-69 b body... thats the kind of stuff that makes you want to give em a reality check.

when i first came to fbbo some kid needed a part and a lot of the guys hear gave him a lot of crapbecause he couldn't pay their insane price. i was so mad i sold him my back up part for a good price, my point is that it goes both ways. if you have ten of them don't try to get rich off it.
