my wifes 70 belvedere project (long story)

here is a couple of pics from last saturday. got all buffed out except the drivers side fender. had to sand it down and repaint it because i bumped into it after puting on my first coat of clear and it messed up the base. when i got up in the morning my rear was really sore from kicking it all night long. to anyone who might be reading this, are the front seat belts in a 70 dart 2 door the same as in a rr,gtx or sat. a local yard has a 70 dart that i may go look at this week. belverdere 039.jpgbelverdere 041.jpgbelverdere 034.jpg

I love the color like the others said. It's really cool and really unique. Your wife is gonna have one hell of a sweet ride.

emmet show and shine

well alot has happened since my last post. I took 4 days of my vacation and spent everyday on the car trying to get the car ready enough to get it to the show and later the cruise that night. still needs headliner, rear seat cover, all of the rubber seals, side scoops and stripes and some of the trim, but it was good enough to drive to the park. the drive to the park was the first time on the road in over 10 yrs. lots of work still to do but getting closer. got lots of compliments, especially on the color. it was a great show. there were over 900 cars there. with the upgrades, the318 sounds great and Ill try to get a video up.anyway here are a few pics.belverdere 008.jpgbelverdere 012.jpgbelverdere 016.jpgbelverdere 019.jpgbelverdere 018.jpgbelverdere 020.jpgbelverdere 024.jpgbelverdere 038.jpgbelverdere 027.jpgbelverdere 028.jpgbelverdere 030.jpg

Damn that is awesome! Congratulations on making it out to the show, the car looks great and the paint came out awesome :icon_thumleft:

I just found out I get a week of paid vacation a year so I'll be taking a couple days to work on my car too, not a bad way to spend the time
:eek:ccasion14:

She turned out great. That color seems darker that I originally thought it was going to look. I take it your wife's happy with it? You did a good job, now for the little stuff.

Love those wheels, if you weren't so far and I didn't have to gicve my 68 up, I'd be trying to trade you a set of slots for them :) Here's my old 70 with that type wheels (not a good pic, but....)

Looks to me like you're doing a great job, especially with low budget and learning as you go. Keep this up and you'll go far, everyone has to start somewhere, and most do not start at the top.
