Getting ready to cut the end off my 1965 Coronet steering shaft so I can lengthen it when I noticed a hole in the shaft. Its just over an 1/8" diameter and about as deep. My 66 is thy same. Whats it for?
Service manual for,the win, again. It tells you what those 2 holes are for. Correct positioning of the column in the body so the coupler isn’t bottomed out or extended too far. There is a specified distance between those 2 holes.
For everyone with a mopar, spend a little of your spare time paging through the factory service manual. It has hundreds of little bits of information in there and you can learn alot by reading a little bit here and there.
