Mystery rear end

Looks similar to this Pontiac rear

Your....the car's....rear end looks like a GM 10 bolt to me.

It does. Still, the only Chevy or Pontiac axles with leaf spring mounts were Camaro and Firebird models. This axle looks like it has been this way for awhile given the thin coating of rust so if this is a NON Mopar setup, somebody many years ago made this modification.

I thought other automakers also had some type of snubber. I had a few Camaros and Firebirds. They mounted them to the body above the axle. What is a "Half moon" clamp? Is that a leaf spring clamp of some type?

Gonna need to get under there with a wire brush and find some casting numbers.

Universal joint clamp

Only thing possible wide enough in the AMC line would be a Matador or Rebal by that time they were using little of their own stuff.
I didnt know if they had anything similar. I still think its a GM 10 bolt but i don't remember the one in our 79 Camaro having any holes for mounting a snubber. I suppose it can be drilled and tapped but seems silly to mess with it when b body 8 3/4s have always been plentiful and as good as any 10 bolt.

Has anyone asked if the wheel lug pattern was measured?

Also, I did see a pinion snubber and plate bolted to the center section. I don't think GM did that.
