I would like to KNOW what this is, how old it is, CFM # and what it's good for. IE on my 440 or not....

Q-Jet replacement. 650cfm, double-pump. Probably okay on a stock 440.

Ditto, Q jet replacement- run away!!
It's a real 650 DP, but NAH
Would not recommend, sell it to your GM buddy

Hell no!! Give to some unsuspecting Chevy guy LOL. I'm serious! Never ever had any good dealings with one of those POS's. Worst carb Holly ever built!

Well alrighty then! Thanks guys.

It's an off bred spread bore conglomeration.
It may have some value to a Chebby guy but doubtful.

I know of a new 800 AVS that might be for sale hehe

It's probably old, originally made to replace 66 - 73 Quadrajets. The last time I had one of those was in 1981.

They run good, not sure what all the fuss is about. Probably a little small on a 440 though.

The Avenger series is by far the worst built.

Rebuild and try it. Probably good street throttle response. Can't hurt..

It came with the long block for free. I can ditch it, no sweat. Want a 850 Mighty Demon anyway. I'm going to follow IQ52's plan for the motor as It's the same motor he was using with 346 heads and stock valves sizes. I figured around 1800 bucks for the carb, RPM Performer intake, Crane Gold Race rockers, Comp cam. With some judicious porting he shows where you can get just over 500 HP with the 346's, stock valves, and the small cam. All about air flow. Be around 8.9:1 compression. Need to score a bunch of other parts too, but I expect most of it can be found around in the salvage yards or on here at FBBO. Anyone need a stock 440/4 intake? lol.

If you decide to toss it, keep the 50cc rear accelerator pump unit. Having a free one beats buying one from Holley as they are expensive.
