In a nut shell.....
The stock mopar suspension sucked for trying to be competitive on a 1/2 mile asphalt high bank track. You had to try and drift the thing sideways like you were on a dirt track. While all of the theatrics were going one first gen Camaro would simply wait until I slid up and drive under me.
With the GM frame and engine/firewall moved back 13 1/2" I had the best of both worlds. Mopar power on a GM frame with a low center of gravity and weighing less than 3000# I won a lot of races and had a blast doing it.
