I've owned a loooooot of muscle cars over the years, loved many of them but, I'd say aside from the Mopars I've owned my 57 Chevy was my second favorite.

Since we're talking IROC, I had a TTA for 20 years, recently sold it.
I ruined it by throwing everything at it, bigger turbo, intercooler, injectors, exhaust, porting, drag radials, the list goes on.
Stupid stupid fast, at any speed, any time.
A friend bought a T-Type Regal and I had to have one, couldn't find a decent one so I bought the TTA.
The Regals are far more comfortable, but the TTA came with the GNX turbo, Pontiac heads, headers, blah blah blah.
The late 80's early 90's turbo vehicles are no joke, still.

Off brand muscle cars for me would have to be 1972 and earlier.
Something with a big block and a 4 speed from Buick, Oldsmobile, or Pontiac.
The only Chevrolet of interest would be a 1969 big block 4 speed El Camino SS in black or dark green.
Corvettes aren't muscle cars. So, I didn't mention them. The only Corvette after 1972 that the Mrs and I like are the C8. These are not in our future though.
A Super CobraJet Torino or an aero Torino might be an option.

The Dodge IROC R/T back in 1992 was one of the few mid 14 second cars, and was all American (except for the Lotus designed cylinder head).
We had a 4 door Matador in the late 70s. It was white with a green interior. It was pretty ugly, but it drove well and was a comfortable car.
Roscoe P Coltrane drove those after Hazzard county ran out of Dodge cop cars to wreck!

Similar for me, but I'd have go 1966 and earlier, thinking more along the lines of full size cars, rather than intermediates. Pontiac super duties, 2 plus 2, J-2 Oldsmobile, Buick Riviera Gran Sport.

When I was a kid, a local guy had a 67 SS427 4 speed, he pulled the motor and sold the car.
To this day, both the car and engine remain local, but separated.
Guy with engine will not sell, unless you pay more than the car with the engine.
Both of these 68s are local, I took the pics, both 4 speeds, one is a vert with power windows!

Here's one I was seriously considering buying. It's a Biscayne, but it had a 427 with a 4-speed. Mean sounding too.

My first car, a `68 Chevelle SS was a 396 4 spd with light blue bucket seat interior. It was painted a dark metallic blue and had a white vinyl roof and I`m not sure but I would guess it was originally a medium or light blue. Of course it had Cragars in back, air shocks with G60`s and chrome slots in front with `70`s. It was a POS with the 307 powerglide but I still liked it and although it was slow at least it looked and sounded cool. Pic of what it might have looked like new -

Very rare, the 1971 Matator Machine, 401 four speed. Only about 60 were built.
