Need 8 3/4 narrowed.

Need a 8 3/4 rear out of a B-Body narrowed for my 72 Swinger and new perches welded on. Anyone know of any shops in Northen Michigan?

From say, Cadillac up.

What year B body is the rear out of and are you wanting to make it shorter than a normal A body width?

It's a 70 B-Body rear. Just need it narrowed to fit under my 72 Swinger and put new spring puches on.

Thanks Dana 60. If I lived closer, I'd take you up on it. I live way up north. Quit a run down to the Dayton area.

With the proper backspacing on the wheels that rear can be made to work in your A body. Just move each perch in 1/2 inch and weld them on. You will need to pay attention to pinion angle though. I just put one in my A body without cutting it down.

You might consider using the b body rear. I just put one in my a body, the only thing I had to do is move the perches in 1/2 inch on each side. Pay attention to pinion angle before welding the perches back on.

I have tried to post a link for you regarding using the b body rear in an a body, but it won't post. Go to moparmusclemagazine.com and click on the tech tab and search for "back end boogie". It covers the specifics in that article. I put a B body rear in my A body and it works just fine.
