Instant porridge works just fine as well. The things we did as teens...

The same old operator that told me about black pepper for coolant leaks also told me about several handfuls of "SANI-FLUSH" (toilet bowl cleaner) on the steering clutches and brake bands, when they got Glazed and did not grab well....both methods work well...

I've used this a couple of times, it worked well and showed no bad effects later. Once was on a GM 3.4 v6 that would have meant stripping everything down to the timing chain cover and once was a neon head gasket. The fix seemed permanent.

2nd step is ceramic seal.

Oh, .05 step is fix the problem
