Need a list of max wedge intakes low deck

I'm doing a 500 build and was planing on TF 240's but have stated to think maybe just go with the TF 270. If I could get a good flowing single carb duel plan intake that just might be the road I take.

I think Indy MIGHT make one. I think that makes a total available of... one.
I may be completely wrong about this, but I don't know of any.
There may be a low deck tunnel ram than can be opened up to max wedge, may have to be welded up to add material.

A unusual combination, Edi sells there Victor MW heads for R/RB applications....
I think you will need to modify your manifolds to match your heads, Indy or Edl. Contact Hughes engines, i'm sure they will help you. But you're car need a dual quad intake for the right look i love it

You’re out of luck on the low deck dual plane. Good news is a 500in motor doesn’t need one. Indy single plane will be the best bet.

There isn't a list of MW low deck intakes. There is only one. Maybe two if you have Indy modify a low deck Mod Man with MW ports.

Wow sounds like a chance for someone to exploit a niche market. I would think there would be a market for one especially with TF new head.

There aren't a lot of low deck intakes. Not many choices for low deck main bearings either. The aftermarket hasn't really supported the low deck very much over the years, especially not a low deck max wedge setup. That combo makes sense on paper but it isn't something that the aftermarket really "gets". I did a low deck with 270 heads last year for Car Craft. It made great power but there was only one intake that fit and it was junk out of the box. After $1000 of port work it made excellent power.

I’m Building a 400/470 now. Is it worth going to the 270s Andy? Or should we stick with the trick flow intake for low decks and a set of 240s? Is there a huge power difference you think?

I did a lot of dyno testing with my two 470 engines. All of the test results are on my website: http://arengineering.com/tech/

You can pick up some power by moving up to the 270 heads but it gets expensive. You need a good engine since you'll be spinning it higher and harder and you'll need a good intake to take advantage of the bigger ports. Nobody makes a good intake so you'll have to start with an Indy and work with it until it is good. Personally I wouldn't recommend putting MW heads on a low deck unless you're really committed to the task. And if you want to make so much power why are you starting with a stock block? At some point it just doesn't make sense.

Its a bummer for low decks as they don't have a great intake manifold selection. Its to bad as I run this Indy dual plane on my 440/493 and it has nice size ports and can be opened up to Max Wedge size. Its a nice street intake which my car is 99% street driven and I really like this intake on the street. Indy should make one for the low deck engines. Ron

I just finished a stroker 400 (498") using the tf270 max wedge heads. I ordered the intake thinking (silly me) that when TF people said it would work, they meant it was MW ports. Wrong. So had it welded, then matched the ports. I ended up polishing the outside. It turned out pretty nice, but had about 12 hours (rough gues) in it. Hated the look of the Indy, besides other conerns.
