need advice how to improve my SSBC disc brake setup

I`ve tried to get hold of the tech guy so many times, but as a private person it seems to be nearly impossible.
They also do not respond to mails, tried it several times.
Their customer service really sucks.....but if you try to get the information via Summit it works.

Companies could spend more on quality control I would pay more and they would never get a return... in stead of hopeing to move factory seconds as quality and then wasting more time in returns and substitutes.... but as long as they made money once and reputation means nothing with a sea of dummies who accept it. There has always been people who make a living off of helping themselves in times of opportunity.... they set you up to come back for more... so far I have found many sutch setups.... the previous owner loved the car and just got worn down by shops out for money... between the parts quality and rip off garages he sold the car.... I have peeled back the layers.... the automotive industry in America today is pathetic and 99% bogus bull **** artests out to profit on suckers.... so if you have to hire the work done good luck... most shops will pay low wages and only hire crack heads...

1000's of suckers out there... 1000's of UN happy people... no wonder no body can get through to customer service.... these cars are our babies and deserve the best so we save for months or years to buy parts just to be snickered at by parts guys hiding behind call centers that don't exist.... unless you're in on the joke

I really want to reinforce that SSBC is junk and keep away from it... what struck me is 'how many coronet owners bought their cars from previous owner who after putting on SSBS sold the car. Brakes are a big deal to some people... so in a way I owe SSBC a big thank you because if the PO. had got the brakes right I wouldn't have anything to bitch about. SSBC and summit are helping us by keeping a steady flow of basket cases available for sale....

I suggest SSBC send out a 2nd kit and have it professional installed it at there expense..... if that doesn't work out .... assemble a stock based kit based on a stock Cordoba and drums on the rear dual diaphragm booster and the hemi master proportion valve.... box up the SSBC stuff for sale on the forum.... I don't feel comfortable about selling my old troubles to someone else so it all goes in the scrap pile. T HE RAM MAN has some good videos on utube worth watching... make sure everything is right.... sometimes people put on disc brakes and forget the disc master and distribution block and or proportion valve.... power drum cannot be converted to ssbc with out fabrications... the kit masters have a master with front reservoir for front brakes and a rear for rear and mopar ones are opposite front reservoir for rear and mine are backwards.... you're service brake light may come on after the conversation because of the pressure difference between drum (600/ 600psi) and disc (1200/ 600) but the kit fails to mention many of the installation steps like a hole in the fire wall between the booster and the mounting brackets you can't use because of the shock tower... just stay on hold a while longer and we will be right with you..... I mounted the SSBS booster flush to the fire wall... in some states you will fail inspection for a hole in the body.... so SSBC IS NOT 50 states legal and should be labeled for off road use only because of the hole eemounting instructions.... who has a $40,000+ car with a 2" hole in the fire wall behind there booster....

Please dont get me wrong, I did not say that Summit sucks, it is just pretty disappointing that a lot of parts are no longer made in the US.
I love American classic cars and trust me, I put most of my money into it. So when I order parts from the US, I often get Asian crap.
This is just annoying, but the customer service, prices and speed is oustanding @ Summit.
When I order parts on Sunday, Fedex will be at my door by Wednesday, that rocks!
Also thanks for mentioning the 15/16 master cylinder, this is what I`m about to try to increase my brake pressure.

I contacted doctor diff and he recommended this master cylinder, thanks for the help Cass!!!

For now I will try to solve the problem by installing the CPP master cylinder to improve the pressure, this might be the cheapest and easiest way to fix it.
As mentioned before, when I needed tech support it was impossible to get hold of someone at SSBC.

Maybe SSBS should have stayed with mustang... and not market parts that don't fit without fabrication as bolt on direct replacement.... save a few hundred and give mancini racing a call. Just trying to be help full.... why spend more for less.... and the availability of replacement parts.... LOL sorry this is a salesman forum.... several people surf these forums fishing for sales they're you're buddy and have all the answers never actually installed anything so they hang out at the shows to selling to anyone who's buying.... there living depends on you not knowing everything.... PST when you routinely install these systems according to the supplied directions that I cannot seem to follow myself how do you overcome the hole in the firewall? Why does there have to be a hole there and why do my stainless steel rotors rust....

Now I learned something.... the 15/16 master over the 1 1/8" bore.... the question I have is do you realize the factory mopar cylinders are backwards from the SSBS and most other makes.... the front reservoir and piston supplies the rear brakes on a factory mopar and the front supplies the front brakes on the kit masters are easy to get reversed.... make sure you're rubber lines are new.... the rear gets overlooked often and they can separate in side and restrict the flow and plug

Thanks dude, I definately have to replace the only rubber line left in my system (rear), it looks kinda old.
I did not mess up the reservoirs, tripple checked that.

Hope we will be able to block our wheels one day, lol!

I have not questioned your ability in anyway shape or form and I am not here as a salesman in fact if you read the majority of my post I do not push our products but I will answer question about our products. To say that I am just a salesman is insulting. I enjoy the hobby myself and as a job working in many facet of the industry for a number of years from 10+ years in the restoration business to working at PST. I have been on both sides of the fence. But flooding a post with a lot of nonsense (meaning you said your peace in one post about your feelings towards SSBC so there is no need for 4 more). We are here to work with the guy to solve his issue. How about we give him a chance contact the rep I recommended at SSBC and see what they say. I have already call my contact at SSBC even though he didn't buy the kit from us (PST). So I guess that means we are not all bad (parts suppliers) and just out for the consumers wallet.

Ok caught between two salesman who earn a living selling..... you bought a master cylinder... I would at least flush out the system check for Leaks when you stand on the brake pedal does it blead down? We're the pads broken in right are they the hard pads that can act like you're description.... there are many things to check before I would swap masters. Either way you could buy one a week it still won't compare to a dual diaphragm booster and hemi cylinder.... the rectangular one... it's more than $50 buck.... BCK8536-1(66-69) -2(70-74) -1 (power drum/drum) $359.00 at mancini racing..... the ssbc calipers and rotors should clamp according to the pressure from the master... given the distribution block is free of dirt or obstruction.
Willwood is the way to go if you want max braking power.... you trade 15" factory weels for the willwood.... do you're research and see what's out there sadly you may have all there is to get out of the Ssbc mustang set-up.... curious to how heavy you're car is also.... if it's new to you... I have seen some bondo heavy cars that look great but no matter what don't stop good... a friend's cutlass just came to mind... plus he carried a lot of tools with him... before the body work it would stop great.

The first fix is to replace the rubber hose in the rear.... a lot of times the rubber hoses are missed because they look good or the kits don't supply them. Make sure to adjust the proportion valve so the fronts lock up just before the rears do.... theSSBC system needs all the help you can give it because it's designed for a mustang and there lighter than b body's lighter than most A body's

SSBC is junk. Take it all off and start over with Baer willwood or the factory setups. I have SSBC and it won't see a new set of pads. It came junk out of the boxes.... summit is a $hitty company... everything I have from them was a second or third.... they dive the dumpster for the parts they sell. I am just so frustrated with today's quality I just run what ever crap they send me. My master came with a well rounded tablespoon or casting sand in it. Can't clean it all out... best case is to hope they fail and you spin out of control and take out some dummy wearing a summit ball cap at the event. Test the brakes in front of there displays.....

Really??? So tell us all how you really feel!!! I have used SSBC on a couple of my rides and I use Summit as well. Any issues were promptly handled and remedied. One of the first things I did was to upgrade to an 11" Dual Diaphragm Booster which give the brake response a better feel.

Sleeper you will make absolutely no progress on this Forum Board by taking that attitude and belittling members and a Vendor to boot in that fashion. PST has an excellent rep both here and within the industry. Just because you have a burr up your Butt about Salesmen and how they conduct their business does not entitle you to a free shot at dissing them in front of the other members here. Hope it's just you having a really bad day is all but if you keep it up I can guarantee that a "time Out in the Penalty Box" is in your immediate future. You haven't been around here long enough to assert that kind of verbal slander and accusations. Take a CHILL PILL and go have a Cold One and Cool Off!!!!...My 2 Cents

as a compromise a 1 " Mastercylinder from a 68-82 Vette should probably work.... The vette is a 4 Disc car...came with or with Booster from the factory...... those Mastercylinders are realy cheap... 20-50 $ at Rockauto or other vendors....
