a Local junkyard I go to is closing down and they are crushing like crazy but what few cars they have left is this 67 Valiant for 800 bucks im pretty sure it has the title I have the money but want to know if its a smart idea complete car has rust but trunk floor, doors, and rockers are very sound I just don't want to see another Mopar destroyed i could part it out but I think its really cool and would make a nice driver

I like it and for the money id get it. Bring five one hundred bills and one more in the other pocket and see if they take it. Id think they would. That car would make a sweet driver

Thats a cool little Mopar. I'd defiantly buy it. I'd daily drive it too.... I hope you save it!

I like your guys style but the thing is the guys who own the place are the biggest chevy ******** on the planet I offered 650$ before and he said no way I asked if we can negotiate and he said I can go higher im willing to pay a bit more then what its worth to see it saved my dad used to go in there and fly the mopar flag proud and got **** on for it

Inner fender hinge area rust looks kinda bad.

I pay $500-$700 for "parts" cars, unless they have more than one group of valuable parts (like bucket seats and tracks plus hidden headlights, etc).

You can probably get that back out but it might take time.

If you have time and patience, go for it, that's a cool car.

I'd like to see it saved and put back on the road but it does have some rust issues, and you didn't say whether or not it runs and drives.
If you plan to put a V8 in it, want the car to handle and stop well, you'll end up changing out a lot of stuff to do it right. But it could be a very cool little Mopar!

I could really put any A-body Front end on it im thinking it should run but who knows and the fact its a three speed on the column is neat

That would be cool to have a 3 spd and a sleeper.

Needs inner fenders, fender repairs (if savable), floor pans, maybe rails...........Most valuable part on the whole car is the pedals, then come the '67 specific parts, dash doesn't look too bad.

BUT............

$800 USD = Way too much. They are just being dicks, they aren't getting that from crush.

Too bad.......you can't save them all.

Edit: Maybe you can send some little hottie in there that they don't know with $300! :thinker:

Weight of car metal parts only about 6 cents a pound to scrap it. let the Chevy *** know what he will get to scrap it and offer him a bit more. he might go for it.

I like the hottie idea but I wouldn't subject a beautiful women to those animals I overheard one time that one of the guys had his wife in a car that was in the crusher about ready to get crushed until someone stepped in

$100 over scrap cost... if he refuses, just tell him he threw a benny in the trash & walk out.

I completely agree. It is whoever blinks first. Show them you have the cash, let them know you are serious, but also let them know you WILL walk out. If they sense you are serious, they would be fools to throw out $100. If they do, then they are just plain a$$holes and not very good businessmen...

if i was 30 years younger I would be all over that 67 Valiant:icon_thumright:

Sometimes it helps to have a vision...

And don't worry 'bout a little rust, you'll have to cut the corners out for the fender headers anyway!

I'd pay 800.00 if it had a title and underneath isn't that bad. Its one of those things ..If you WANT the car a few hundred is just splitting hairs in my opinion. I still have deep regrets about a few deals I passed. If I take the chance I refuse to have regrets anymore.

I don't want to buy it if he don't hAve the title there are a lot of other old mopars im my area I can buy and underneath looked really nice some rot on the torsion bar cross member but nothing to bad rust don't scare me that much anything can be fixed
