removed shafts still no oil comming out new oil pump new cam bearings shop installed not my doing

my guess number 4 cam bearing has issues tell me im wrong

thanks for you help

I had the same thing happened with a 340 a few yrs ago. I turned the crank a little and the oil started flowing. I'm thinking the oil channels wasn't lined up.

Yup, if the oil channel in the cam is not aligned with the oil feed hole, no oil will make it to the top. And the cam only feeds one side at a time so you need to rotate the engine for that to happen.

400 motor

good call guys

yes rotate engine and the hole comes out 180 it again on the cam and it took care of the side

thank you very much

Doesn't the full groove bearing help prevent this?

Actualy, I think some have grooved the camshaft journal......

Assuming you have a fully grooved cam bearing but I haven't seen or heard of anyone running one. That would cause too much oil up top anyway.

What I had seen was a fully groved camshaft journal, not the bearing itself.
I dont think it lets the full amount of oil go through, just a portion of it that slips through the groove. The full amount would only be available when the hole lines up, just like stock would be.
