Need help selecting sparkplug wires.

when i bought the set for my 440, it came with 90's and some 135's .... i think with the headers the 135's take the wire away from some of the tubes .... plus i got some insulated wire protectors for the boots also ....

theres a set of msd 8.5 red wires on moparts race parts section for sale at $46.00 shipped.

chris.... Maybe that's why you're always rich... Them Taylors can't burn all the fuel so you have to take fuel out.
If you would put a good set of Firecores in then you'll have to jet up also. LOL

Damn Ron... how did you pull that off? Although we paid for the wires at Nowalk, Rick come over and custom made the set up for us so it fit good. Can't beat that with a stick.

Actually it was one of his sellers Brad over on Moparts. He recomended I try a set and I told him I am out of work right now and cash is tight. So I was planning to get a set when things get better but he just went ahead and sent the wires to me. Told me just use them and see how I like them and to even do a track test comparison of the Moroso wires I had on it. Would not take any money from me. He is a very nice giy that Brad as is Rick as I met Rick at Carlisle this year and he is a great guy who treated me great. Everyone associated with Firecore have treated me great and the wires work great ! Ron

RON.IT is built as a pure stock. machine work done by best machine. its been a best of 11.97 in stock trim. 11.0:1 compression. it has about 2000 miles on the rebuild.

Thats great Chris as I did not know you ran it in Pure Stock. I really like the Pure Stock and FAST cars alot ! Ron

I am getting ready to drop in my racing engine and I need sparkplug wires. How do I go about selecting the best wires? Is there such thing as overkill? Do I need to match the wires to my particular application. I plan on upgrading to an MSD ignition some day but just have the mopar electronic ignition with orange box for now. Any recommendations or experiences would be helpful.

I would say get the wire with the "lowest OHM resistance/per ft." that you can, that have the proper style & fit of ends you need for your application... You can get 7.5mm wire with 40ohm per ft. of resistance to 10.5mm with as little as 40 ohm per ft. of resistance, with a carbon type core, if you don't care about radio interference, get a solid core wire, you need to check the OHM rating, most are way up there, especially on some of the bargin or more advertised brands, some are as high or higher as "2000ohm per ft. of resistance" that's 50 time the amount of a true quality plug wire... If they don't list the OHM resistance, it's no doubt pretty darn high....
