Need some help with a 426 hemi street build

Until the fluid leaks out. Had that happen before. I use ATI for all my race engines and rebuildable with their o-ring kits. For my street builds any ole Pioneer or Powerbond work just fine.

Understand that , have had some of that too.

ATI on everything... looking good so far. The mechanical fuel pumps are just heat sinks for vapor lock, so my .02 would be an electric. Don’t skimp on pushrods, they’re a mile long.

Haven’t checked them yet waiting on gaskets I will be using ones that look exactly like factory covers but they are taller.

I seen them hit on the outside flats of the covers. Oversize retainers and / or springs.

Don't you need longer plug tubes or do V covers compensate for that?

installed height of the springs is 2.154
the OD of them is 1.510 and the retainers
are 1.340

they will be close im sure but they clear these

The covers I’m gonna be using are from Arruzza and have extra clearance on the exhaust side

Don't you need longer plug tubes or do V covers compensate for that?

I would think they would need longer tubes but not sure I will know more on them tomorrow.

They're probably taller in the exhaust area, that won't affect tube length. I kick myself for selling a NOS pair of those Mopar valve covers with single plug inserts and 4 chrome oil cops $240 dumb.

That was cheap! I have single plug inserts for them as well they are hanging below them in the pic

Tries those back in the day , were leakers back then , most everybody I know abandoned them .

Well I’m not real excited about buying the oversized covers from John Arruzza. I have read when you buy something from him it’s yours if it works or not. So I going on the hunt for some
regular ole factory or aftermarket tin ones and will make them work. Besides I’m not sure if there are correct tubes to use on the ones john has to offer.
