need a little help with this problem.
Yesterday at Lebanon Valley,it was NENDRA'S 2ND TO LAST RACE OF THE SEASON AND THE WHOLE EVENT was a complete cluster f***.
thanks supercars for raining on our parade.NOT!
NENDRA was the featured event but due to 2 rainouts the last 2 weekends, supercars and 1320 extreme piggybacked on our race.
to make a long story short, We were only able to get 1 time trial at around 1:30 pm and eliminations started at around 3:30pm for us.
The 3 top points leaders made it to the next round.
Only problem was 2nd round was going to start at around 7:00pm
out of the 6 racers in 2nd round,2 were feeling horrible qnd couldn't stand anymore. one of the racers was 68 years old feeling weak and the other has had some major medical issues so this long miserable day was getting to them physically. The 3rd member had to be at his daughters birthday party at 7:20 pm so his day was going to get cut short. If he had to stay to keep points lead, he would have but 3 of the 6 really needed to depart since they all had long trips home as well.
We made a call to one of the NENDRA officers and decided as a group to freeze points till the last race and resume from there.
The #2 points racer got hissy saying its not fair that the points were going to be frozen.#2 points racer lives very close to the track and he was racing in another class as well, guess he had no other place to go.
Take into consideration, Lebanon Valley during the race year shuts down the drag strip at 4:30pm every saturday due to the circle track racing at 5:00pm and too much dust comes on to the drag strip.
This was a extreme case where all the racers could not continue due to extraordinary circumstances beyond our control.
This situation has never came up before.I as the president of NENDRA is put in a horrible position since i'm the one who has to make the call, good or bad.
So my question is : Poll on what to do.

If I am understanding this correctly the race was down to 6 cars??? As cool as the weather is now you could have put five minutes between rounds and finished it in 20-30 min. Everyone sould have been able to make it that long. We race at Norwalk from noon till 5am many times and start right back up at 9am.

your not reading it correctly.
4 hours between rounds and next round was at 7:00pm.a few guys that were in the quarter and semi finals have medical issues and could not proceed
guys were up at 4:00 am to start there journey.
they just weren't getting the cars down the track fast enough and next round had over 200 cars in front of us.it was getting too late and everyone was getting hissy.
when 3 of the 6 had to leave, one of the head NENDRA officers heard the scenerio and spoke to the remaining 6 members and made a logical decision to freeze the points and resume it next sunday.
So lets see how this turns out next week.
If it goes down to the wire a best of 3 races will probably take order.

I guess if you took a vote and everyone agreed to freeze the points until the next race, then you made the right decision.
But I personally think that since it is a points race it should have been finished, even if it went until midnight.
How ever you should have a talk with Lebanon Valley about the stunt the pulled on NENDRA. That's BS. They should have at least notified you before the race since it was NENDRA's date. They are the one's that put you in a bad spot.

If you are going to join one of these fly by nite racing groups then you need to follow the rules!

looks like the #2 racer got all his points (20)and i was only able to get 10 pts for 1st round win.i should have stayed.
so this sunday i'm going to wind his clock and take this championship once and for all.no excuses.

Why do you think I go to the Beach club....
Many MILFS with no husbands around= ME.............

Here is the write-up closing up the NENDRA 2010 season championship scenario.

Island Dragway hosted the 2010 NENDRA finale once again.
Taking a step back for a moment... At event #15 it was determined mid-event that since 3 of the 6 remaining racers had to leave during competition for medical and/or personal reasons, that there would be a points freeze. Those remaining would be racing it out for the trophy. This decision was overturned after much deliberation. So, the points going in to event #16 were reflective of the actual standings of the completed event #15. This was deteremined due to a ruling that regardless of the hosting track having huge delays between rounds, added to the fact that competing racers needed to leave, that those racers whom chose to leave, were in fact forfeiting the upcoming round(s), and those chosing to stay should recieve their upcoming round points.

With that in mind, let's get back to Island Dragway for the finale results. It was discussed in the pits at Island Dragway on the morning of event #16 with those in the top spots, that if at the time current #2 racer were to win event #16 and at the time current #1 racer were to lose event #16 first round, that a run-off in a best 2 out of 3 format with each pass being worth 5 points would be needed to remove all doubt of whom the 2010 NENDRA champion would be due to the missing round of competition from event #15. Confusing? Stand by... All parties agreed before first round and again before the final round of what potentially would be occurring after the completion of the final round eliminator. All parties agreed and was witnessed by not only the NENDRA racers in attendance, but also several non-NENDRA racers. With the tone of these results you most likely already guessed what occurred.

With the best 2 out of 3 scenario on the table, the NENDRA pits were bustling with anticipation for a true championship showdown. Wayne who was the winner of event #16 chose to not participate in the 2 out 3 showdown after agreeing on two occasions. Only Chris Baum made his way to the lanes. Island Dragway staff was made aware of this situation before first round and said they would accomodate us to make this special run-off happen so the crowd could get into the story line.

After all that, and after completion of the solo run, the 2010 NENDRA Championship has ended in a tie. Some have voiced their opinion that Chris has won the overall championship by 5, but in an ultimate showing of sportsmanship, did not want the championship tainted nor debated. To bring this already long and confusing newsletter come to a close....We would like to announce:
Congratulations to the 2010 NENDRA co-champions Chris Baum and Wayne Farquhar.

So I probably should have gone up for the 2nd round to clinch it then?
It was all your fault Drjayo, you should have not giving in to Wayne little tantrum and just froze the points as agreed upon by all of the other participating NENDRA racers. LOL:eusa_boohoo:

We are going to have our 2011 annual meeting on the 30th of January.
I guess we could talk about it, but I really didn't or don't want to win it this way.
I beat the co champion 3x's this year.He got me on the last race.I broke out by .08. He dumped at the 1000 foot mark and I lifted way too late.I never thought the car was gonna hook so hard in the right lane. The right lane has been terrible all year. I figured if I dial .2 slower and I spin I can peddle it at the bigend.Car was running 9.80's all day.Figures they scraped and prepped it just for our final race.
Critique this loss.

That is why I prefer to race an index style format. You select your index on Friday, then you leave it on the window until the event is over. You tune the car through the event to stay on it.

I hear ya on that.
But, my car always runs consistent throughout the day. It doesnt vary, if I run 9.79 i usually go 9.79 9.79 9.78 9.80
It was unfortunate that they prepped the track really good for the finale for us. I never thought they would spend some much time for the last race of the year.

It is getting real unfortonate that track personal are not permitted to use the time or materials most of the time to give us a good track. Track operators have no problem charging 100+ bucks to race.I guess it is bad fo everyone money wize. It is rough on us guys that have a bunch of power on 10.5's. I live 11 miles from NTR and really hate going there, NHRA does not want them to spend any on track prep. You are almost gaurenteed to have a spinfest there. Mopar Nats and Sportsnats are the only time it is decent all year.l
