Never start a car by sticking your hand through the steering wheel to turn the key

Another good lesson we can all use. I'm glad that you weren't badly injured. It's just another reminder of how dangerous it can be working on our old cars even when you have a lot of experience and know what you are doing. You don't want a new nickname like "Lefty".

Man that realy gets your mind running when your alone and that happens ! I work alone all the time in my shop and have gotten myself in some Dumb crap before !! Like trying to lower a corvette rear down out by your self !!
Wasn't pritty but I got it and a two day sofa rest !!LOL!
Thay say what dosn't kill ya makes you smarter ?

Yeah,I did it too. Some things you just dont wanna tell.
Yup but the older I get, the more I don't mind talking about my screwups thinking that maybe it'll save someone from getting hurt....and it's something we that have survived can laugh about lol

wow bad deal, good to hear it's not broke... better luck in the future

Something happened to a few days ago. I was changing wiper blades in my wife's GMC Envoy, leaning over the passenger side, with my right foot next to the front wheel. As I was changing the blade I felt the truck start to move backwards real slow and felt it start to run over the tip of my boot. Luckily they are pretty hard toe and the truck stopped after a few inches, I was able to wiggle my foot out, no damage done. What happened was the vehicle is parked on our drive which has a slight incline and with all the packed snow and ice, even though I thought it was cleared, there must have been enough for it to slide back on its own. I will for sure be more careful the next time, feet clear of all wheels. I always try to keep my phone with me, just in case something happens.

same thing happened to me, I was adjusting the self steer and totally forgot about the danger, my arm was pinned against the directional lever, I was lucky that I got about an inch of slack to pull my arm out, talk about bruised
