New A12 owner - I need help with idle solenoid

The one on my 70 V-code worked, but does not now, and that's ok. A properly tuned 6bbl should not need one.
Although I don't know why or when it stopped working (could be a bad connection?) I think I may do a "dummy wire" connection so I don't have any hazard.
