Yours looks like an old ‘Bullseye’ pistol with those tall sights.Mine is well used not matching serial numbers, but most parts are from the late 40's. The story I got is it went through a government program that disassembled many of these weapons and refurbished some numbers of them for reissue.
You have something very rare with yours.
I was looking into the CMP release of the 1911's also. Went through the entire filing process and was never contacted about my place and status on a buy. I subsequently dropped out because I came to find out that it was rigged and not in my favor. I really wanted a true 1911 and the grading and pricing were not a concern. Just the fact of having one. Now I do have a 1911 by Armscor/RI. It is exact in every way to the Gov't 1911's as during WW II they were allowed to build 1911's in the PI for the Military. Just a little tid bit of History. It is an excellent representation of a true 1911 and I do enjoy it. Besides the price was right and affordable. Planning on replacing the sights and I did put better grips on it. But for the most part, at least for me, it fits the need perfectly as a single stack 45. I also have a Springfield XD 45 double stack which is my go to when and if needed. 45 ACP is the best for stopping power and such. Gotta love em...cr8crshr/BillI've read there will be a few other releases from the CMP. I could be wrong though. One of those pistols would be fantastic to own! Fairly impossible to purchase here in Canada, however.
Here are a couple more pictures:

Sorry to have to disagree, but unless it's already sold? A month ago in one of the local shops here had a unissued 1946 WWII GI 1911 w/2 mags, box, GI holster, & manual for $5200. It was pretty and impressive to say the least!Yes, it's damn near impossible to find a wartime 1911 with complete matching numbers. I'm happy just to own one, a wartime piece is something else altogether!
Congratulations!
You found the needle in the haystack. Go buy a lottery ticket . There has to be a 4 leaf clover nearby also.Sorry to have to disagree, but unless it's already sold? No lottery in NV, and clover is hard to find in this desert environment. You found the needle in the haystack. Go buy a lottery ticket . There has to be a 4 leaf clover nearby also.

And why would you not consider it??? It is a collectable piece and original. Collectors would drool over it. Sure all are meant to be fired but as a Historical piece, and a virgin 45, it is priceless is it not??? cr8crshr/BillDisagree all you like. One question though, would you consider an "unissued 1946 " 1911 "Wartime"?
I wouldn't.
That price is about right for a numbers matching 1911 from that era, however.
I'm not disagreeing it's collectibility. I am disputing it's "wartime" heritage. And why would you not consider it??? It is a collectable piece and original. Collectors would drool over it. Could easily have been lightly used/carried in a later war?!I'm not disagreeing it's collectibility. I am disputing it's "wartime" heritage.
Unissued, apparently.Could easily have been lightly used/carried in a later war?!
Oh, but you can display to me and call me a loser with Lisa Simpson holding a L to her forehead just because I have all of Eddie Monies music, in the Eddie Money thread. All I did was ask you if I'm still a loser for also having all of Rick Ocasic's musical library? But that's for to much for you to comprehend!@69a100 if you're taking something in this thread personally, that's on you. It's easy enough to settle in here (answer the simple question I asked).
No reason to resort to name-calling in a memorial thread.

Don't waste your breath arguing with that guy, he's as childish as they come.If you're looking for an online dispute, take it up with @Ironbuilt .
He's the one you should call out.
There's also no reason I should have to do the legwork and check the post history to find out I'm not the intended target.
